I might be "odd" for feeling the way I do, but I see this entire cascading of events surrounding WH, BKB and NG (along w/other hangers-on and relatives distant or not) to be a tragedy. That's what it actually is since so much pain has been leveled in that group, most of it self-inflicted.
No one has to choose a path of destruction. Every day is a new start. You can't change the past but one can reach out for help and enjoy a better future. I find the entire thing extremely sad.
As far as NG I honestly think he is an addict and alcoholic (same thing) and his actions and words since BK's hospitalization show that very plainly. I have sympathy for those who suffer from the disease of addiction. The first use is self-chosen but not for much longer.

This always seems to explain it from the addict's point of view and is honest:

>Pain and deception are a river that carries you in it's current. You can choose to go with the current, or swim against it.
I believe the pain we feel within ourselves can be the product of our self-deception, which we can choose to overcome or we can choose to accept as a limit to our own freedom.<

my pain is self chosen, at least i believe it to be<

Watching the snippets from Dr. Phil's interview with NG...he's a terrible actor. MOO.

I found out that Dr. Phil airs locally at 5:00PM (Eastern) on the CBS station. Since the show is syndicated and airs at different times depending on location and network, when will others here see it? If the Dr. Phil show is on earlier for some of you, I might just take your word on whether or not it's worth watching ;)

At one point I liked DR Phil. Now I feel he is just a cleaned up version of Jerry Springer.
I will DVR it.. See what you guys say. But I think this is going to end up being on a loop one day like the Scott Peterson interview where he ignored his phone...

Dr. Phil was interviewed on ET last night. He said his intention was simply to interview NG, but NG didn't come out for the interview, so he went backstage to find him. Dr. Phil said that NG was completely wasted, couldn't even stand up. I guess eventually NG attempted to do the interview, clips of which we have seen. Dr. Phil didn't say NG was faking it, just that he alternated between fairly normal conversation and the hyperventilating, panicked behavior. He said that they decided that the need for intervention outweighed any kind of quality interview that had hoped to get out of him.

...(Dr. Phil) said that they decided that the need for intervention outweighed any kind of quality interview that had hoped to get out of him.

I wasn't expecting a "quality interview" under any circumstances. NG's lawyer/s were likely present during the "interview/vention" and would have already advised Dr. Phil's producers about the scope of questioning allowed. I'll check back here periodically throughout the day for updates on the show before I decide whether or not I'll watch at 5:00.

There was no way he was ever going to talk about what lead to BK's condition. I knew that would be the case.

Our sources say Nick was staying at an Atlanta hotel for what he believed was an interview with Phil ... when in fact it was an intervention staged by Nick's mom. We're told Nick's lawyer would not allow him to talk about anything connected with the events that led up to Bobbi Kristina's tragedy.

What I want to hear on this Dr. Phil show is NG's mother explaining how he ended up living with WH. What age -- 12 or 16 -- was he when his mother gave up on raising him and why? Has she been a part of his life since? I find it extremely opportunistic that she hasn't shown up until now, but maybe I don't know the whole story. Just wish I could understand, once and for all, how NG got included as a quasi member of the WH family. It has always sounded strange to me and the info has remained limited for some reason like there's a secret.

Me too .... are the answers in the interview?

So I guess what I would like to know - whose paying for NG and his Ritz Carlton hotel stay, the drugs, the booze and now his rehab? Did he have an income source? A job? Is Mom stepping up? Or is Dr. Phil covering it all for the train wreck of a story that seems to never end.......somebody is paying the bills.......

I know that Dr Phil pays for rehabs .... I assume he's also paying for the Ritz Carlton stay. NG's drug dealer (his best friend) is probably supplying him with drugs and alcohol.

I will not be one bit surprised if none of the questions people are hoping Dr. Phil asks NG will be asked. Why was he not living at home with his mother instead of living with WH and what happened the morning BK was found in the tub. Because this case is under investigation I believe that will be the answer to that question. As for why he was living with WH, if it gets answered, the answer will be short and simply, my mom and I didn't get along back then.

There is so much finger pointing at WH and BB for BK being addicted to drugs. IMO Yes, children learn what they live, BUT at some time in their young lives they figure out what is right and what is wrong. I'm sure BK was well aware of what her parents were doing (drugs, smoking, drinking) and at some point before she started using, knew those things her parents were doing were wrong. It was her choice to use or not to use. That's like saying any parent who does wrong in front of their child should be blamed for their child going off the tracks also. There are so many children who grew up in bad, unfit homes and knew enough not to make the same mistakes their parents made with them. Those children grow up and instill totally different morals for their own children, making their lives better than what they had. That could be anywhere from drugs, alcohol, smoking, sexual abuse, child abuse, parental abuse, yelling and screaming, etc.

You would think BK knowing drugs killed her mom, that would be enough to steer her clear of them. I realize losing her mother may have been a coping mechanism for her, but again, she knew it was wrong. If she didn't have family or friends she felt she could turn to, there is all kinds of professional help out there, if she would have only reached out to those who could help and support her in a positive way, instead of those who may have only drove her further into addiction. I have the impression BK lived a very boring lifestyle and drugs brought some fun and excitement and good feelings into her life. As opposed to her mom WH, her life was the opposite of BK's around the time she started doing drugs. She couldn't handle the pressures of that lifestyle and turned to drugs to help her cope with all the fame plus the turmoil. WH found out success and money could not buy happiness, therefore she turned to drugs to fulfill that happiness and drugs also helped her cope better, or so she thought.

All JMO and rant over.

Talk about predisposition to addiction ..... BK had not one but both parents that were addicts. BK realized, probably early on from her parents, that drugs could be used for a myriad of reasons = happy, sad, partying, relieve stress etc = a crutch she learned from her parents.

From one of the clips Dr Phil admits NG did not attack any of his staff .... when NG was trying to flee from the interview he knocked some of Dr Phil's staff out of his way.

I do believe NG is sincerely in pain as he states he feels tremendous guilt that he couldn't revive BK .... I don't believe the actions surrounding BK's bath incident will ever be known unless they pull the plug and an autopsy is performed.

I don't know. He says the same thing about not being able to save Whitney while doing CPR, but then we hear from authorities that he was never giving her CPR. So.... ? :tsktsk:

IIRC in one of the first reports about the condition of BK after paramedics arrived and "took over" CPR was that BK was "gurgling" when they left for the hospital with her. I am no CPR expert but from what I have seen in instructions and such is that the fluids have to be expressed from the lungs first to get air in them. That being said if NG had been giving BK for 15 minutes before paramedics got there, the "gurgling" should have happened at least 10 minutes before. Was he giving her CPR or was he going through the motions? If her brain went without oxygen for all that time it is no wonder the prognosis is not good.

:waitasec: If accounts of NG having been present when WH drowned, with him attempting to revive her, then the same thing happened to BK, there has to be more to this story. Nick just happens to be at the scene when the two women with whom he's spent the last 10 or so years of his life are found incapacitated in a bathtub? Whitney died; Bobbi Kristina is in a coma and unlikely to regain consciousness. No wonder Nick is overwrought and trying to assuage his guilt with alcohol and drugs.

So now he was 18yo when he moved in with WH? Did I hear that right?
This kid is lucky Dr.Phil came to him. He is truly a mess right now. Wow.

I'm watching Dr. Phil now. So far the mom has been saying how wonderful he is. He didn't move in with Whitney until he was 18 after his mom kicked him out.
