Oh, ok. Because you said "Dr. Phil divulged the name of the facility," I thought you were referring to Dr. Phil.

Did the spokespersons say anything, or were they simply filmed interacting with NG? I didn't see all of it.

Dr. Phil introduced the two representatives from the rehab facility who were sitting in the studio with him, Nick, and Nick's mother. When Nick asked what would happen if Krissi "woke up and called his name", Dr. Phil said that he'd send a helicopter to pick Nick up (at the rehab place) and take him directly to Bobbi Kristina's bedside. Viewers now know where Nick Gordon is being treated because Dr. Phil made it known on his syndicated TV show. :stormingmad:

I'm not referring to Dr. Phil. There were spokespersons for Willingway Rehab on the set to escort Nick Gordon to their treatment center.

People can, and do, waive their HIPAA rights for stuff like this. Televised stuff, I mean. Intervention (the show) does/did this - they almost always say where a patient is going for rehab. It's publicity for the rehab center, and free rehab for the "patient" as the trade-off for signing away their privacy rights. It's a choice the "patient" makes. Shows like Dr. Phil have savvy legal teams. They would not open themselves up to lawsuits, nor would the rehab facility. I am certain NG signed a waiver of some sort.

Neither Dr. Phil nor his show can violate HIPAA for reasons stated above. If the representatives didn't say anything, I'm not so sure they would have violated HIPAA either. However, I'm not a lawyer or expert in HIPAA.

I'm perfectly aware of this. Doesn't mean that I agree with the publicity ploy or that it's right. I hope and pray that Nick Gordon gets the help he needs.

So here is the thing. Dr. Phil and his producers have guests sign waivers. Part of Phil's schtick when he believes services or rehab are needed, is to announce what facility or doctors or experts he is handing the guest over to. It is part of the show. Then the expert or facility rep and Dr. Phil sort of mutually glad hand and sing one another's praises. Then the guest decides yes, I will take this help being offered gratis, or no, I want no part. It affords the day's "expert" or treating facility free publicity/marketing to get their name out there.

Guests sign comprehensive waivers prior to ever appearing so that Phil can do this and NG ostensibly signed one prior ot appearing. So no HIPPA violation IMO. And the idea that this was meant to be an interview and "changed" at some point during to an intervention is absolutely ludicrous, no matter how it is being spun. MOO.

NG might plan his own reality show.......he has a publicist

OK then. I must have misunderstood your first post about "so much for HIPAA laws". I was speaking to legal aspects of it, because I thought that is what you were referring to. :dunno:

My opinion is that "reveal" was not an accident. Also NG brought up the word rehab before Dr or Mommy, like it was already the plan. This was so not an interview or an intervention but more of a production. Long story shortened- I think NG and Mommy and rehab facility are going to be coming out with their own reality spin off. I don't know why NG was "kicked out" allegedly, at 18 but the people that I have experience with that would claim to be "kicked out" at 18 were jettisoned because they no longer brought in money. Rather than buddy up and become independent and get his own place he moved in with WH and her minor daughter. He's been out of pocket since January so he's got to be desperate for cash right about now. That's how I see things at this time but I'm on the outside just watching (& SMH).

Watching this show was uncomfortable for me. I don't know what I was suppose to feel for Nick, but I didn't feel his pain despite how hard he tried. Sorry, but MOO, it seemed like bad acting, attention grabbing, and truth avoiding.

I'm not even sure I believe his kidneys really hurt him.

He struck me as so immature, and rather shallow. He made me nervous by flying off the handle easily and not being focused on the real concern which would be Bobbi Kristina. He's right Bobbi Kristina would probably call his name if she woke up and that he was very important to her, but that doesn't mean he did right by her and wasn't using her. His erratic behavior now and hearing there was an argument right before BK was found in the tub only makes me wonder if...

Nick has hired two high-profile attorneys - one who specializes in Family Law; the other ispecializes in Criminal and Entertainment Law. Nick obviously anticipates needing legal representation in both. Nick's been living off of Whitney and/or Bobbi Kristina for the last 7-8 years and now finds himself with no means of "support". No doubt about it - Nick's Desperate for Dollars right about now. Maybe this can be the name of his new reality show :D

The entire show was scripted - start to finish. Nick and his mother knew exactly what they were getting into - and, I'm sure, both were handsomely compensated for their participation in this abominable charade. :moo:

How did he get the ring if he is not allowed to see her? And why did he give it to his mom?

BK could have taken it off for bath or thrown it at him during disagreement (I doubt that second option, just throwing it out there). It could have been taken from her finger before the ambulance took her away which might sound morbid but also makes sense because it could have easily gone missing and no one would know what happened to the ring. Kind of like did we ever find out who SOLD pictures of WH after she died? Wasn't it said that it had to be a family member? That ring is money or can somehow bring in money.

Absolutely agree 100%! I tried to have compassion, sympathy etc but, EVERY time he opened his mouth I found myself wanting to scream at him. Of importance is that NG is the one who through his attorneys requested to utilize Dr. Phil to get his story out. He was not at that hotel UNTIL he found out Dr Phil was in fact coming. I'm not sure if anyone remembers early on the video of NG getting pulled over and WH was blaring on his radio? If you listen closely at the beginning of that video you can clearly hear it was a different hip hop song playing UNTIL he realized he was being pulled over, then he switched it. This has stood out to me and bothered me since I viewed the video, I've refrained from stating my opinion about it until now.
What that music switch said to me was, (IMO), if the cops know I'm part of WH they will leave me alone. I believe he INTENTIONALLY set out to get as wasted/drunk as he could KNOWING Dr. Phil was coming and UTILIZING that as leverage to manipulate seeing BK. From the moment Dr. Phil walks in his room, NG's eyes speak an enormous amount of deceit, attention seeking, faking behaviors, and what really got me was his vocabulary to try to control the situation, ie: "please don't disrespect me" (NG) , "I'm getting frustrated so hurry this up", (NG) "mommy I don't want to talk anymore" (NG)
AND THE BOMBSHELL>>> NG>Dr Phil, " I just made you more famous"! SAY WHAT??? He is very very very sick, not just from the alcohol and drugs but mentally. I unlike most of you DO believe he had direct involvement and cause of BK's condition and I also have some not so popular opinions on his statements he's made on twitter regarding, "what went on with me and whitney, I will take to my grave" (NG).

Everything you said. This was akin to watching a 5 yr old throwing a tantrum and getting the attention he feels due. I have a feeling that has always worked for NG in the past, especially from the women in his life. I did feel for his mother. She seemed genuine to me and in a great deal of pain.
I'm thinking he was so out of control that he may have struck or pushed in a moment of rage causing injury to BK. He may have felt remorse after but I have no problem with seeing him hurting another out of frustration or denial of his wants. IMO

Wow. Pretty narcissistic.

There just seems to be a feeling with many people these days that being famous in and of itself is something to aspire to, even if the reason for being famous has nothing to do with talent, character, or amazing acts or contributions to society.

What do you gain from everyone knowing who you are if what they know is that you are an addict, a no talent, a person of low character or ethics, or a person who possesses few to no good qualities? Why do so many people see this a good thing?

OK. I watched the entire Dr. Phil/Nick Gordon interview/vention. I jotted down a few things that seemed "notable" to me.

* NG's mother always refers to him as "Nicholas". I've only heard/read him called "Nick".

* Nick met Bobbi Kristina when she was 12. They apparently became "good friends" at that time. NG moved in with Whitney and Bobbi Kristina when he was 18 and had just graduated from high school.

* Dr. Phil suggests "psychiatric commitment" of her son to Nick's mother.

* Dr. Phil suggests "medically supervised" rehab for Nick Gordon.

* Nick Gordon pleads emotionally to Dr. Phil, "Help me see Krissi!".

* Staff from Willingway Rehab Center appear on the show to help escort Nick Gordon to rehab.

* At some point, Whitney, Bobbi Kristina, and Nick Gordon checked in to rehab together.

As I surmised based on various video clips and articles about the Dr. Phil interview/intervention, this show was all about getting Nick Gordon into a "safe place" with a bona fide mental health defense in the event that he is eventually charged with Bobbi Kristina's demise. I don't doubt that NG has drug and/or alcohol issues, but that isn't what this staged interview was about. NG and his mother are :scared: that he will be charged in Bobbi Kristina's drowning, and they are desperately trying to find a way to avoid the worst. Shame on Dr. Phil for giving Nick (and his mother) this platform for his defense. :moo:

I disagree .... it's enough that BK's life is at stake .... we don't need to see another life self destruct.

I can't speak to what Nick might have had to do with Whitney's demise, but I am about 99% certain that he had something to do with BK's current situation. I think they had an argument that night that made NG feel that BK was tossing him to the curb and that his gravy train was going to be cut off for good and all. Not agreeable to Nick who has mooched off Whitney and Bobbi Kristina for the past 7 or 8 years. Nick is going to figure out a way to get what he believes he deserves, and he's hired big guns to help his cause. :moo:

IMO NG narcissist thinks he is famous through his WH/BK/connection now back with his semi famous real mom and Dr Phil. The news, photos etc is feeding that ego.

I'd love to know what was between WH and NG goes to the grave with him? I don't think it would be drugs because he admits o them all using drugs together..........

who is NG father? will he surface next???
