Hi travelgal, I 100% agree with you and the governor of Florida needs to do something about the ratio of sex offenders in the state of Florida vs. any other state. They all seem to migrate there because of the sex offender laws are much more lax than any other state!!! JMO of course!! I happen to live in the State of Florida (The Sunshine State) where tourism is it's #1 means of income. Theme parks abound and weather affords much more recreation time outside for all. The pedophiles find it appealing because it's a cheap way to get by, keep a low profile and lots of innocent kids to prey upon. The number of SO's and RSO's per square mile is astounding. Not enough has been done to prosecute them properly, IMO. The laws need to be changed. If you harm a child, it should be automatic you spend the rest of your life in prison. If you harm a child and it results in their death, you automatically get death. If you aid or abet an offender, you get the same. I think this case has pushed a tremendous number of people over the edge and instead of Charlie Crist preaching how the crime rate has gone down by 8% at Somer's press conference, he needs to wake up and realize now is not the time to spew those kinds of statements trying to whitewash the amount of pedophile crime here. It was appalling what he did and it's time for those of us that have gone over the edge to group together, State by State and make the pleas in Washington to get this done. With enough swift action, it will happen. It's for the people, by the people. It's up to us because so far, nothing else has brought about any solutions. I, for one, am sick of tired of hearing about yet another child having their life snuffed out at the hands of these sick perverts and nothing changes year after year. I'm going to be doing some research today on contacts in Tallahassee. That's where our top State officials reside so that IMO is where to start. Wish me luck.

When I was signing in to my computer a half an hour ago, I received a Google Alert saying the little body found at the dump is Somer.

It seems they have tentatively identified Somer by her birthmark.

In the press conference they said they could only see part of the legs but the rest of the body was covered and they just backed off and called FBI and didn't disturb the scene and/or any possible evidence.

I don't remember hearing that happened? Considering LE searched a dumpster near the MH, one would hope that a landfill was searched as well.

I have been thinking the same thing all morning. What if we have a serial killer in the area? Two little girls, an hours drive apart??? The cadaver dogs hit on the dumpster from Haleigh.... Poor Somer found at a landfill after being dumped in a dumpster??? Sounds way to similar to me.

Pat Brown was on MSNBC this morning and I found it very interesting what she had to say.

Her main thought is they know this perp is a sexual predator but he is not necessarily a pedophile. She also says it could be someone who has done this 2, 3 or 4 times before who has never been caught:

Your kids aren't safe walking anywhere...period...and sex offenders need to be sent upstream for life with even ONE conviction on record..

I so agree with this statement. What can we do to keep first time offenders in prison. I'm asking because I want to get involved in changing the laws that allow these creeps to just walk free to harm again. I really don't know where to start. I'm so sick of hearing the words alleged, and innocent until proven guilty, and the fact that what this group of garbage has done before can not be brought in to court. It just make me sick. It's time to put a stop to crimes against innocent children. Can someone tell me how do I get involved, where do I start? thanks
