http://newsfall.com/2010/10/12/zahra-baker-missing-10-year-old/

Here is a news report that states it ... however agathawannabe had the court roster posted at one point. I can't find that link.

Brittany Bentley, 21, filed a complaint accusing Elisa Baker of communicating threats in May after she says Baker threatened to kill her and her 7-month-old baby during a family dispute. Court records show those charges were dismissed with leave, meaning prosecutors reserved the right to refile them, in August after Baker failed to appear in court.

(Note: I think the last line "in August after Baker failed to appear in court" doesn't belong there. It doesn't make sense with the fact that they were dismissed with leave. Perhaps it's meant to read IF he failed to appear in court ?" All I know is that they were refiled when he was taken in OCT on the worthless check charges AFTER Zahra was missing.)

ETA: Sorry whyaduck.... remove if needed just wanted to answer the question :)

If you remove the phrase between the commas, 'meaning prosecutors reserved the right to refile them', you get this sentence:

'Court records show those charges were dismissed with leave in August after Baker failed to appear in court.'

RESPECTFULLY SNIPPED:
As far as that list of "detecting lies" I say it's complete HOGWASH. According to that list you could make no facial expressions at all that wouldn't be determined as a lie and if you did that ... then people would say you were cold and emotionless.

I agree..I do most of the things on this list when I'm telling the truth...:waitasec:

The interview, I realize it was heavily edited, but it was all "ME, ME, ME..." If he really had nothing to do with this, he was told, just a few days ago, his daughter is dead and was cut in pieces. 6 months later, how could he be giving any thought to himself, much less how much he was concerned about HIM in this interview. 'They think I'm a monster..People call me a murderer...I want a normal life...wah wah wah'. Where is the concern for the dead and dismembered daughter he loved so much? Where are the statements about her, how she didn't deserve this, how she was such a good girl, how she made his life worth living, how he doesn't know how to go on without her?

Did we watch the same interview? LOL... such differing opinions.
I didn't hear him say "they think i am a monster ... people call me a murderer... i want a normal life..... "
He was asked by the interviewer if people had called him a murderer and he said "yeah" nothing more. All of his other statements were about Zahra.
paraphrasing ....
"I didn't want to take the focus off Zahra..."
"I couldn't do that to my baby girl ....."

Okay, this thread is becoming a general discussion thread, so I guess the subject of body language is no longer interesting. Since it was only a 2 1/2 min interview, I can understand why.

This one has gone on too long, too far OT.

Please relocate to the more general "AB Involvement" thread to continue discussing his guilt/innocence, if you wish. This thread will be closing soon.

I do not care, really do not care, how he was dressed, how he answered the questions, and/or what kind of poor, wide-eyed innocent, pathetic me look he was able to scrounge up for the camera.

HE, and HE alone, took off with Zahra when she was an infant and he was given custody of her by her mother. He chose to cut Zahra's mother out of their lives, and by that choice, HE made himself Zahra's only parent, the one with the SOLE responsibility for her care and welfare.

In Zahra's 10 short years of life, she survived cancer. She had a leg amputated because of the cancer. She lost her hearing and required hearing aids because of the cancer. She allegedly had a prosthetic limb that she had outgrown. AB, as her only parent, by his own actions, was responsible for her care, so why wasn't he getting her fitted for a new leg?

Zahra was last seen by someone outside the family on Sept. 25. Why did no one else see her? Was she sick? AB had a duty to take her in to get treatment if she was sick for 2 weeks, that's his job as her father, and again, only parent. While he did not have to physically take off work and take her himself, it was up to him to make sure it was done. Did he? Apparently not, and we are talking about a little girl who has been severely ill in the past. How can it be justified to not get her treatment?

Zahra was allegedly deceased, by what means are still unknown, at least to me. She was dismembered into pieces and scattered about the countryside. Where was her daddy when this was going on? If he has a job that takes him out of town for long stretches of time, I am not aware of it. So, what? Was he in the living room watching a game while EB was in the bathroom cutting up his daughter?

IMO, he was savvy enough to evade Zahra's mother for 10 years, so how is he so clueless now?

The interview, I realize it was heavily edited, but it was all "ME, ME, ME..." I'll keep my fingers crossed AB gets his 'normal' life in prison, with no parole ever.

No, come on now, tell us how you really feel.

Seriously, thanks is not enough for this post, you expressed exactly how I feel - and then some.

I understand a mother's love for her child. But there is too much here for her to ignore it all and think EB is only to blame. This isn't a case where the crime scene is elsewhere. The crime scene is his own home, his own two cars.

I don't remember police calling the house a crime scene. I DO remember police saying that about the location in the woods ? ? I don't think we know that anything occurred in the house for certain.

but they wouldn't dismiss them if he failed to appear .... ? ? ? ? (where can we move these posts so whyaduck doesn't spank us for being OT :)

Everything they took from the house, what they cut out, the mattress they eventually found. The two cars with blood in them. Something happened in that house, IMO.
