Hi all!
Little update for you. I've just spoken to a journalist from the BBC who is on the case, and so are Locate International. Hoping the ball is rolling!
That's good news. We're starting to see missing persons cases coming through to Locate now and your case should be allocated to one of the investigation teams quite quickly.

FWIW I am a volunteer investigator for Locate, and I believe that there is at least one other Locate volunteer on WS.

Ah thank you so much for all that you and your team does! I think the journalist is passing my details onto yourselves, I am meeting with her on Monday

Hi everyone,
Big update- Elsie is NOT Mary Ellen.
Thanks to the incredible Locate International, and Jane at the BBC, Elsie was found. She had reverted back to her maiden name and moved back to her home town, and lived to the ripe age of 92! What happened to her from the late 60s until her death is still a mystery, but I am so grateful for the closure and my Nana is beyond relieved. There is no bad feelings, my Nan is just grateful she managed to escape her bad marriage, as apparently she'd tried before and it didn't go well for her. I hope her life was happy after she got away <3
Thank you so much to everyone on this thread for your support, help and guidance- now let's find out who Mary Ellen was! Much love and respect x

What a wonderful resolution. I'm so glad your Nana got answers, and she knows that Elsie lived a long life free of her abuser.

As for Mary Ellen, onwards and upwards! We know who she isn't, so let's keep working to find out who she is.
