'Boobies' bracelet fight could go to Supreme Court

A similar one I dislike is "Save the tatas". I don't think of myself as prudish but I do think "tacky" is a good place to start to explain such a campaign.

My grandkids school just wore pink one day in support. A pink boys T shirt was passed down through a couple of my different boys to wear each year. Boys could really get inappropriate with the bracelets.

A few years ago there was a campaign on Facebook where I saw underage girls post sexually suggestive statuses such as "I like it on the floor" or "I like it on the couch." There was another one where girls posted the colour of their bras. Apparently it was for "breast cancer awareness" but it sounds more like attracting sexual perverts and predators to me. I thought I was the only person who felt as if sexualizing illness was sexist and wrong.

These two were on the news yesterday. I can't get behind them at all. Reeks of self promotion under the guise of free speech and awareness.

I really don't see the problem with this, and i don't find it offensive either.

Is it not better to raise awareness of the issue?

I'm 27 and i hadn't gave it a second thought about checking myself for anything until last year when i seen the 'feel your boobies' campaign,so if it makes people aware and could possibly save lives i have zero problem with it.

anyone raising awareness or donations for any type of cancer research gets a thumbs up in my book

Looks to me like these girls have been very successful at bringing awareness to breast cancer. Won't everyone be on the edge of their seat waiting to hear if boobies is a banned word from the Supreme court. Looks like a case to me where even negative attention can bring about the desired result. I think these kids are far deeper into the sexual culture and can handle the word boobies.

Oh I agree, there are much more offensive words around in glasgow it seems the f word and the c word are just part of every day language

Why is this even new? These bracelets have been around for years! A lesbian co-worker of mine wore them a few years back and was told to stop. So I started wearing them (yes, at 55 years old) and no one said a word. Maybe it is more about who you are than what you are wearing?!
