Jennings says he took photos of the truck and the VIN number at that time.

Thursday, May 9, Jennings came back to work. He was in the hangar before his son in law - no one was there that he could see. He walked around the truck, "kept looking at it, kept wondering," and then "made some phone calls," he says.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:05 PM
He says he discussed it with his wife that night and she couldn't believe it either. "I was clearly upset," he said.

"I kept looking at that truck and thinking of that poor man and hoping [MIllard] hasn't gotten himself into something," Jennings says.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:04 PM
Jennings says he was "hoping it wasn't" Bosma's truck.

So when he looked at the truck's interior it was actually the 9th?

He says he took the pictures because of his "feelings it could have been the truck." He phoned Crime Stoppers in Brantford and asked if they could check it against Bosma's truck.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:08 PM
"They're unique to each vehicle," Jennings says.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:07 PM
The VIN number is an identification number for the vehicle. Tells the dealer, the make, the year, etc.

So when he looked at the truck's interior it was actually the 9th?

No, it was the 8th:

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 11:59 AM
Jennings says he thought he recognized the truck from the news. “My exact words to myself were, ‘Oh my God, could that be the truck?’”

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 11:59 AM
"When I crossed the floor there was a black Dodge pickup sitting on a green tarp on the floor," Jennings says about that day.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 11:57 AM
Now the Crown is asking about Wednesday, May 8.

(it was the 9th he took pics/made calls)

Jennings says he called Crime Stoppers Brantford. "If I gave you...a VIN # could u tell me if it belongs to #TimBosma?"

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Jennings explaining significance of VIN #s. Every one is unique. Took it because of his concerns it was #Bosma's truck.

  • #110

Jennings says he spent those 30 minutes pacing and having 15 cigarettes. "I was hoping beyond hope it wasn't the truck."

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:12 PM
Jennings says around that time his son in law was there around 9:45 a.m. that morning. Says no one else saw him take the picture, and that was intentional on his behalf.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:10 PM
Court now seeing pictures that Jennings took of the truck in the Millard Air hangar.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:09 PM
She took the last six digits and asked him to call back in half an hour to 45 mins. He says he did.

In the 45 mins in the interim Jennings remembers "smoking about 15 cigarettes, pacing, hoping beyond hope Del wasn't involved..." #Bosma

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Jennings' son in law didn't see him take the pics either. #MillardSmich

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Jennings says his son in law was the only other person at the hangar with him that morning. Intentionally took pictures of truck then.

He called back and spoke with the woman from Crime Stoppers. She said it was the truck. "I was in shock. I went outside to the side of my truck and I vomited. I was upset for everybody - for [Millard], for Shane, for my family, for everyone," Jennings says.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:14 PM
Around lunch time, it was still just Jennings and his son in law Shane.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:13 PM
Jennings just recited the last six digits of the VIN number of the truck -- three years later.

Jennings went outside to his vehicle and threw up. "Upset for everyone." Says he texted his wife and told her "I think I found the truck."

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 1m1 minute ago
"I called...I asked her d she had checked it, she said 'yes it is. Where is it? Please tell us where it is," recalls Jennings. #TimBosma

  • #117
so the truck was moved before the cops could see it at the hangar? wow....

  • #118
Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:16 PM
He said at first he couldn't tell Crime Stoppers where the truck was. One because he was in shock and two because he was afraid for his family.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:16 PM
"I knew at that time that that truck in the hangar sitting on that green truck belonged to Tim Bosma."

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:16 PM
"Shane and Dellen were so close," he says - didn't want to start any family risks.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:15 PM
He said he calmed his nerves, went back to work, but didn't tell his son in law about what he knew.

Adam Carter
Feb 4 2016 12:15 PM
He texted his wife and said he thought he found the Bosma truck.

...wow. :(

That poor man. I can't image the horrible sinking feeling he had the moment he knew it was Tim's truck. And then to hear the awful stuff a few days later about the incinerator.
