Charlie is going to the last witness before the big break?

 • #343
Right, but did he actually buy one? If not, what is the point of the claim?

I can claim that I'm a millionaire who has time to sit around all day transcribing trials, that doesn't make it true. And if DM's lawyers want to prove he could afford a truck, why not just bring in their own accounting expert with a freaking bank statement?
IMO, Sachak is doing nothing but making me believe more and more that it had very little to do with the truck and more to do with using his gun to kill someone and getting away with it. The truck was just the bonus. MOO

Is Sachak really trying to make it look like this witness knows about DM's finances? The guy didn't have a clue how much money DM really had- a lot of puff and pageantry from DM. MOO

Defence is expecting the jury to believe that DM was serious about going into business with a guy he was paying $12.50 an hour to put up drywall and move piles of hay?

Seems like a lot of work to prove that DM had money available. I guess that trumps all the other evidence including video? Clearly this is another sign that the Defense is going to play this off as the other person was fully responsible. I just can't see how this is going to work....pretty much all of the evidence presented so far has these two together every step of the way. IF and that is a big IF...he is able to somehow prove that DM had a lot of money in the bank...it doesn't prove he didn't kill TB...it just proves he's an even lower life than we could have dreamt. MOO

So Sachak hit this kid pretty hard on cross and kept emphasizing his nervousness. Any thoughts on why?

He's nervous about testifying but in contrast he was confident about doing business with DM? Even visited him after he was jailed in hopes that the FBO idea would take off.

I can't imagine actually tending to other business all while going through everything with MS and TB.. so nonchalantly. Wow.

That is classic psychopathic behaviour. IMO

Is it possible we're coming at this the wrong way, and we're supposed to question SH's character because he just wanted DM's money, or something?

Im not sure an actual phone is needed to retrieve text content.
According to my local LE, This can be done through court order and cell provider. Your secrets are never safe he told us! We looked into this against my sisters ex but could only retrieve ex's texts with court order and prove ill harm against her.
This is why I'm surprised we haven't heard what the texts were. So maybe LE officers were wrong?

Just did some googling, and you may be right. There seem to be some apps you can download to retrieve even deleted text messages .. even if not backed up to computer or the cloud. And you don't even need the phone. Seems you can't if the phone was overwritten though. I'm sure LE has access to some better apps / software, as well.

Just chatted with a guy who drove 3 hours from Grand Bend to sit in the trial today. He says he's learning a lot about criminal law.

Sachak now going through all the things that were inside the hangar (ie cars, tools and a fuel truck) that were worth $$$. #TimBosma #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews now
Sachak is now listing, with Hussey, all the $$$ specialized tools found in #Millard hangar #TimBosma

Ooops, you're right, just up to the point DM was jailed, not after.

I was under the same impression. Probably because of this tweet:

@Susan Clairmont
March 30, 2013 until after Millard's arrest, Hussey continues to discuss business plan with him.

<modsnip>
I thought his choice of words were very inappropriate. To TB's family and perhaps even a Juror or two, that would have been offensive, but for some reason, I don't believe DM's team cares about being sensitive to TB's family in the least.

Back to texts from May 6. 9:55 am Hussey asking to meet with Millard before Esso meeting the next day. 12:38 pm Dell says will meet May 7.

Sachak points out #Bosma believed to have been killed night of May 6 and yet Millard is planning business meeting for May 7.

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 26s26 seconds ago
"We've heard mr. #Bosma was killed sometime on May 6... but we've got Dell texting you about a meeting on May 7," Sachak says. #TimBosma

I honestly have never thought it was just about the truck. I thought maybe evidence would prove something differnt but has not yet. Just seems to confirm my thoughts of a thrill kill even more.
