That's it for me -- trial resumes again the Monday after March break. Thank you for following along, and watch for a recap on www.cbc.ca/hamilton today.

So do judges permit lawyers to swear in their courtrooms, if they are not quoting evidence ? I thought our Canadian standards were higher than that -- very disappointed in the judge. IMO

It's not technically swearing. Maybe to Christians but not everyone.

The language of the D has left me deeply disturbed. How is he allowed to speak like this in a court of law? What if he had invoked another religious figure, would that be just as tolerable?

I thought that the courtroom was one of the last places of decorum. Clearly I am mistaken.

MOO

I am surprised to hear Sachak swear in court -- very unprofessional in my opinion.

I'm surprised they didn't opt to squeeze CD in today for the incinerator talk and pet cremation business plans.

A huge THANK YOU to all our dedicated members who are doing the tweets. I know it can be tiring, but your efforts and hard work are so appreciated by all.

So please visualize a very big font for this :tyou:

Dungey cross: did you about 'the truck' in the hangar on May 8 2013?He asked Shane Schlatman he says. Was told he got it in Kitchener #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Dungey: you mentioned Mark Smich was there doing odd jobs sometimes. Hussey said Smich did stuff like clean washrooms, paint stuff. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Sometimes Smich's gf Marlena Meneses would come by and do odd jobs as well. #Bosma

Crown reexamination: did operations essentially shut down in March 2013, when you were let go? Hussey says yes. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 44s44 seconds ago
At first it was understood DM would front the $ for biz. On May 10, he said anyone entering company from the ground would put up $5k #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 33s33 seconds ago
Hussey said it struck him as odd "a little bit." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 19s19 seconds ago
Hussey has not gone into business with any of his contacts since Millard's arrest. He still works PT at airway aviation. #Bosma

I got the impression that the defense was trying to kill time at the end in their cross to avoid getting to the next witness. I would have thought the Crown would have tried to end on some powerful testimony before the 10 days to leave the jury with something to really think about. JMO

Some people just lack common sense and tact.

I'm not religiously affiliated with anything. But it's not something I would be dropping knowing full well the affiliation this family has.
While I'm not offended by him saying it, I definitely see how others are and could be. These types of settings are places where that should be minded, unless it specifically had to do with something said directly in testimony.

Yeah right, he hadn't heard of the Bosma case by then. Seems a lot of Millard's pals didn't watch TV, listen to the radio or read the paper, because from May 6-10 this was BIG news in these parts. I think all these guys knew exactly what was going on and simply turned a blind eye.

Well IMO as per SH's testimony today, and RB (DM's uncle), it is clear that DM misjudged others and his expectation of loyalty at all costs, or willful blindness at least, was far off the mark and in no way rewarded today. DM has no insight into what decent people are all about because he lacks decency as a core value within himself, IMO.

I truly believe he thinks he had everyone he came into contact with bamboozled by his "charming" demeanour, IMO.

All MOO.

Maybe he has been spending too much time with DM, and his " entourage " , and can no longer speak at length in a respectful manner. IMO

Since I'm not allowed to post Clairmont's tweet, the "blown away" statement by RB was in reference to DM telling people (ie CD) that he was going into the pet cremation business with his uncle RB.

Check her tweets around 4pm to see. It's not on this forum.

You ARE allowed to post Susan Clairmont's tweets ... it was the RETWEET that you posted that caused confusion. It was a non-MSM tweeter who made the statement, not Susan Clairmont.

If you can find where it was said in trial testimony, please provide it. Otherwise, it is confusing to members because it was NOT Susan Clairmont or another MSM reporter who made the statement in that retweet.

Yes, it was unclear without that tweet: DM told CD that DM and RB were going to go into the pet incineration business together, and CD is RB's neighbour so of course CD had a chance to mention this business scheme to RB. RB was "blown away".

Confused by this emphasis on replacing the engine in the excavator--is there any evidence that was actually done?

Engine was replaced on the backhoe and SS listed it for sale on Kijiji on behalf of Millardair

Defence is expecting the jury to believe that DM was serious about going into business with a guy he was paying $12.50 an hour to put up drywall and move piles of hay?
I was thinking the same thing

IMO, Sachak is doing nothing but making me believe more and more that it had very little to do with the truck and more to do with using his gun to kill someone and getting away with it. The truck was just the bonus. MOO

hmmmmm .... interesting thought , you may be on to something !!!!

That Millard told people he was going into pet cremation biz with his uncle, a veterinarian.

(The earlier confusion was, some tweets made it sound like CD and DM were going into the pet cremation business together. It was DM and RB, DM said to CD.)
