When she saw his arrest on the news, she called his lawyer (to see if she "could help") and that's how she found out about the order. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 33s33 seconds ago
Dungey asks why she called. "Because I was shocked that he had been arrested. Completely shocked." #Bosma

I suspect he might have been using her - hoping she would bend some of her real estate ethics for his convenience. She was obviously pretty keen on him, texting him twice that fatal night. A normal real estate agent wouldn't be so available to him, or so understanding with all those excuses he was making about his financial troubles. An arm's length real estate agent might see him as a problem client.

Probably got her to drop her commission to a very low rate, like 1 percent. I have relatives in Toronto who are selling real estate, and for a good listing, many agents will drop their commission to 1 per cent these days, and in 2012 as well. IMO

LW was definitely into him more than she lets on. If it was just a casual fwb type deal - and barely friends at that, she wouldn't be making calls to DM's lawyer to see "how she could help" or considering writing him a letter in jail. :waitasec:

After a year of bootie calls I'm presuming she got somewhat attached to him.

Now texts from May 10, 2013, day #Millard arrested. Tells Whidden day is stress-filled. "looks bad. I think someone I work with set me up."

Could be that he found out AJ went to Crime Stoppers

I suppose it's not shocking that DM was beginning to float the 'I was set up' story to the universe that early on. We certainly heard about it very early here.

Leitch asks if Whidden consented to police searching her phone. "At that time no, I needed my phone for work. She got her phone back on Oct. 15, 2013.

LOL- need phone, won't give statement. We'll just keep your phone.
What is it with all these people? I've said it before that DM had some strange hold over everyone. So much so, that their actions defy common sense. Every single one of them.

Sounds like MB was paying some keep quiet money. I wonder if SS was given a nice severance package ;)

Yup, I've said this all along that it was payoff money...when mommy took everything and started selling stuff off. That was my first thought.

Did she find the name of his lawyer on the news? I don't recall that the name came out right away.

What was that? Does the Crown have proof that she did consent? Why didn't they show it? And if not, why did they ask that question? You'll notice she said "at that time no"...what does she mean by that? Did she consent at another time?

Can we expect her arresting officer to show up on the stand?

Heading home, but curious for legal-minded folks to weigh in on the issue of no warrant for her phone.

I bet SS was given a nice commission on each sale. Here's some hush money guys

I think she neglected to say that she first called his mother to get his lawyer's number. ;)

I'd like to go back and fine tooth comb what he could have known by the 9th, what he could have been worried about. If it was the CS thing, who but SS could have told him?
