DM seemed to have a lot of different plans for that red Ram - on one hand he was leasing it to an employee and on the other he felt free to borrow it. In fact he felt so strongly about his right to it that he perhaps planned to use the red Ram's VIN and paperwork to cover for the black one. And then of course he went and hid the red Ram when LE came at a friend of SS's place where no doubt the lessee and rightful contoller of the vehicle JV would have no access to it.

Does anyone else wonder why DM is retaining so many lawyers? If he had faith in his team from this trial, why wouldn't he use them for any other cases?

Too big of a workload, I suppose. DM had the gun case, this case, WM, LB, and no doubt he comes up in CN's case? I don't know if there's one firm that could handle all that going on at the same time.

ETA: TD is MS's lawyer for both the TB and LB cases, though.

Catching up, Do we know how long SS stayed at the hangar on the 6th after two DM acquaintances left?

I'm seeing a pattern here where Millard latches on to people, roping them in to his shady dealings then by the end of the day has them working 7 days a week for basically nothing. Millard has absolutely no business operations yet he has his own accountant, real estate agent, auto mechanic, team of building contractors, plus one co-op labourer.

I agree he was exploiting people, but it occurs to me it must have been expensive to be paying wages for the extended Vallata family, yet he'd only ever sold, it seems, 1 house? Where was the money coming from to meet that payroll?

More evidence, to me. that he liked to appear rich but had serious cash flow problems, contrary to the claims of the defense that he could afford to buy the truck.

Catching up, Do we know how long SS stayed at the hangar on the 6th after two DM acquaintances left?

I questioned this earlier and found the answer.

He said he was at hanger till just after 8pm that night.

Didn't SEE/SPEAK TO BOSS UNTILL LATER THAT EVENING?? Typo from reporter?? Or did reporter catch that when others did not??

They met to switch vehicles at Sherway Gardens in Toronto, near a Sears. He says Millard told him he planned to have the truck for a week. He was told he'd have the Yukon for a "minimum of a week."

So just to clarify if I am getting the basic jist of some of this...

DM has red Dodge Ram (gas)
He wants a Dodge Ram diesal
Acquires black Dodge Ram diesal from TB
DM tries to arrange to have black truck painted (red) but runs out of time
DM asks SS to acquire a windshield removal kit which SS indicated in testimony would allow access to the VIN.
If DM doesn't run out of time because the police are closing in....paint black truck red, put old red truck's VIN onto newly painted red truck and somehow dispose of old red truck.

Is that the general thought process we have here? MOO

Or maybe a framing did actually happen. Maybe we are all so dead set he's guilty that we willingly overlook evidence to the contrary? It's a just though... I'm personally not so sure of anything at this point.

funny how SS never said anything about AM or RB showing up..just about the text that DM says to leave the keys and that ANdrew was coming by to pick up his corolla. Perhaps that was another legal argument?
