Seems to be a pattern when things are looking really bad for DM for him to stare down MS. It's not working DM.

MOO

DM is likely wondering what MS told his lawyer.

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 17s18 seconds ago
Dungey. "Whatever Del wants. Del gets." Man goes missing. Stolen truck. And you want us to believe u aren't protecting him?" @AM900CHML

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 19s19 seconds ago
No. At first Schlatman told them he didn't know. "You lied," Dungey says. "For a time," Schlatman says. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 16s16 seconds ago
Schlatman admits he lied to police when they asked him where red Dodge was.

While it's good to see SS have to account for his lack of moral action on behalf of the missing owner of the stolen truck, it's kind of amazing me to see TD go at him this hard. How does this play when TD winds around to having to ask the jury to see his client as having a diminished role, or to see him as a man reacting as best he can in the moment to grim circumstances. This may end up being a pyrrhic victory for TD/Smich.

  • #148
I guess if stolen things are still being investigated, SS may still be on the hook?

I think he's dancing to not incriminate himself on everything! SS'S testimony is not sitting well on my gutts. Need a spread sheet to keep up with all his lies and contradictions!

  • #149
Dungey now asking about when police were asking Schlatman about where the Red truck was, that he and Millard had moved to a friend's home. "I believe I said I didn't know." Schlatman says. "So you lied to the police?" Dungey says. "In the beginning, yes I did."
by Adam Carter 12:28 PM

An officer cautioned Schlatman about saying that at the time, Dungey says. "It's only then, when the officer said you could be charged, that the truth comes out." Dungey says. "Yes sir," Schlatman says.

TD has established beyond all reasonable doubt that SS will lie to protect both DM and himself, IMO.

The Crown is going to reexamine Schlatman, but there needs to be a legal argument first. Jury being sent for lunch, and we'll be back at 2 p.m.
