On the topic of the stolen Harley, I wonder who in DM's circle has a black truck.

I suppose DM's Yukon could be considered a truck and it's dark blue (mistaken for being black). SS has a black minivan (which I noticed in video posted by CHCH has a trailer hitch)... would be a stretch to call a van a truck though.

The bike and trailer were taken from his back driveway in downtown Toronto in broad daylight last fall and witnesses reported seeing perhaps two men in a black truck back in and take it away.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Close-up of fired cartridge case, .380 Winchester. It's been fired, as shown by indent from firing pin.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Now seeing a close up of the casing. says WIN 380 AUTO. Win stands for Winchester. 380 is the calibre. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 59s59 seconds ago
There is an indentation in the firing pin, she says. Which means it had been fired. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 39s39 seconds ago
Looking at spent cartridge WIN .380 found in #Bosma truck. Indent means it has been fired from a gun.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
That was the extent of what she was asked to provide in her report for oct 2013. #Bosma

  • #229
Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 14s14 seconds ago
Now photo of gun and two fingers touching/holding it. She says markings on gun show it's Walther PPK 9 ml.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 22s22 seconds ago
More recently she was asked to examine certain photos (which were seeing now). #Bosma

  • #230
She first became involved in the case in October of 2014.
by Adam Carter 2:34 PM

Court now seeing this photo of where a spent .380 shell was found inside the Bosma truck.
by Adam Carter 2:35 PM

Here's a photo of the shell, and it shows the indentation of the firing pin. That's how we know it has been fired, Plath says.

Court now seeing this photo of a gun that police recovered.

Ya, if they don't have the gun why is this person being qualified as an expert in firearms and ammo?

LE have the shell casing from the gun and it was found in TB's truck. And they have gunshot residue on OR in a toolbox.

All MOO.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 46s47 seconds ago
Walther manufacturers firearms but also licenses other companies to make the Walther PPK. Or Interarms and Smith & Wesson.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 25s26 seconds ago
Jury has seen this gun photo before.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 15s15 seconds ago
Now we see photo of hand holding gun "Walther PPK cal 9mm kurz/380 ACF" among markings. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 9s9 seconds ago
Fingerprint expert testified earlier that it is Millard's hand holding gun in this photo.

  • #233
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 14s14 seconds ago
First is of a hand holding a gun. (The one jury has heard matches Millards fingerprint) Marking on gun shows it is a Walther PPK 9mm #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 3m3 minutes ago
This is the photo a fingerprint expert inverted to match print to Dellen #Millard. #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 3m3 minutes ago
Seeing this photo next to one of a Walther PPK from RCMP's firearms database. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 3m3 minutes ago
She used @rcmpgrcpolice database to look up Walther firearms. Seeing comparison of exhibit photo with Walther supplied photo.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Very similar if not identical.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 47s48 seconds ago
Inscription and font are same. #Bosma

  • #234
Walther is a German firearms manufacturer, she says, that also licenses other companies to make guns under licence, and that was the case here.
by Adam Carter 2:39 PM

The fingerprint in that photo was matched with Dellen Millard's.
by Adam Carter 2:41 PM

Court now seeing a reference photo of a Walther PPK next to the photo that was matched with Millard holding it. The writing on the guns is virtually identical.
by Adam Carter 2:43 PM

The descriptors are the same and the font is the same, Plath says. The Walther insignia, however, can't be seen in the photo with Millard's fingerprint.
by Adam Carter 2:45 PM

  • #235
The colour of the guns is different. The reference photo is stainless steel, while the one with Millard's print is "blue steel." Those were the two options for this gun, Plath says.
by Adam Carter 2:46 PM

"The fired cartridge case could have been fired through this pistol," Plath says.
by Adam Carter 2:48 PM

  • #236
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Gun in the photo is a "blue steel," dark almost black. The one in the database photo is stainless steel. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 50s51 seconds ago
Cal .9mm and 380ACP mean the same thing she says. (Says both on gun in photo). 380AUTO also means the same thing. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 40s41 seconds ago
Gun is blue steel in exhibit. Stainless steel in other photo. A .380 auto calibre is same as 9 mm kurz.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 27s28 seconds ago
She says the shell casing found in #Bosma truck could have been fired from this pistol.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 39s40 seconds ago
Plath says cartridge found in #Bosma truck could have been fired by this gun in photo.

  • #237
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Gun in the photo is a "blue steel," dark almost black.

RSBM

Just like the Yukon... ambiguous... technically dark blue but could be mistaken for black.

  • #238
molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Now seeing a photo of a detachable cartridge magazine partially inserted in a grip. There is a cutout through which can be loaded. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 44s45 seconds ago
Firearms expert says cartridge found in #Bosma truck could have been fired from PPK 9mm #Millard is holding in photo

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 23s24 seconds ago
Plath says based on marking (which says Cal380ACP) this would be capable of containing a 380AUTO casing. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 50s50 seconds ago
ACP=automatic colt pistol. #Bosma

  • #239
"I cannot say whether it is an actual functioning firearm," Plath says. It could be an air gun, or modified. She can only say for sure if the gun itself is recovered.:

by Adam Carter 11:51 AM

how annoying if no weapon and no dna on remains ends up working in DM's favour

  • #240
This is another photo that was recovered, and Plath says a .380 cartridge could be loaded into this magazine.

"I cannot say whether it is an actual functioning firearm," Plath says. It could be an air gun, or modified. She can only say for sure if the gun itself is recovered.
by Adam Carter 2:51 PM

Court now seeing this photo that was recovered from an iPad found at Smich's residence.
by Adam Carter 2:52 PM

When placed next to a photo of a Walther PPK firearm, the gun in that photo "couldn't be excluded" as a Walther PPK firearm," Plath says.
