Good point. Although we don't know when DM gave him the backpack. It was obviously before he gave the toolbox to MH, since AM already knew he'd given the toolbox to him. I suppose AM will be called as the next witness and at that time we'll hear exactly how this conversation went down, and where the backpack was when the police were searching the house.

So I missed yesterday due to a trip to Ottawa for the day and I'm just catching up. WOW did I miss a good day!!!! Why couldn't this have been during some "chain of evidence" testimony?

Quite the pattern of behaviour that is being established for DM. The killing of TB aside...what a pattern of thefts we are hearing about! MOO

And I know I am very late to this but I will comment....regarding MS stating he is going to be framed and he wasn't even there.....if he truly wasn't there and felt he was being framed...you go to police. It's really that simple. I don't care what your relationship is with someone, if it the murder of an innocent person comes into play and you legitimately were not there...you don't sell weed and a gun to hire a lawyer..you go to LE as quickly as possible, I don't care what past misadventures you've been involved in. Helping steel a Bobcat is very different than murder. MOO

Oh...lastly...a reminder that tomorrow is the day to wear purple in memory of sweet Tori Stafford...her favourite colour.

Easier said than done apparently - looks like a lot of people knew about what happened with TB and no one seemed to say anything, not even this guy... well, not until take 5 with police and an expensive lawyer.

DM could have given the bag to AM when he got home that morning (after dropping off the toolbox) and just told AM about giving MH the toolbox.....don't necessarily think it had to be before....MOO

So far, not one single person connected to DM or MS went to the police right away. We are hearing about loyalty to these two from every witness and about the witnesses not being forthcoming in police interactions until after a few visits. It blows my mind that they are all adults, not teens, and didn't come clean. They knew a man was missing (later heard murdered and incinerated), that TB had a young daughter and a wife who pleaded for his return and yet NOT ONE of these people did the right thing.

IMO, I don't believe this 'poor little rich boy' angle has anything to do with the theft. They are trying to show probability based on previous characteristics, as to who most likely pulled the trigger.

DM, thrill seeker, and detailed planner to not get caught.

I'm not sure it matters in a 1st degree murder charge who pulled the trigger, there's enough involvement by DM with his burner phone, eliminator, farm, hangar, to be culpable.

For 2nd degree, it does matter. This is my impression, someone more knowledgeable about legal precedents might disagree.

This may be a reason why they assumed they'd get away with it - maybe they assumed everyone was like that, including to some degree TB's family.

I noticed that suggestion from MS's lawyer that he was afraid 'TB's friends' were going to come and get him, rather than LE.

I suspect the latter has a lot to do with the former. With the exception of AJ calling Crimestoppers, no one did the right thing right away (IMO) because of the other criminal activity they were involved in WITH Millard. Whether that was theft, drugs or whatever else, any investigation into DM may mean an investigation into their connection to him, and people doing illegal things have all the reason in the world to avoid police or being on their radar.

I can only hope this horrible case has been a real eye opener to at least someone in these creep's circle of people. I think it has been for MH, but I hope he's not the only one.

I am curious IF AM was living at Maplegate AND the police had raided it May 11 in the morning, where was the blue grey backpack stashed prior to AM meeting MH in the park? The police either missed it or AM stored it somewhere else? (his mothers house?) JMO

Another question....so why wouldn't DM just have given AM the bag AND the toolbox? This makes me wonder if AM knew what was in the box and said "hell no" and passed on to MH that honestly had no clue other then drugs?

Good question.....I'm not saying he DID hand the toolbox over first, just that it's a possibility. But yeah....why not leave both the bag and toolbox with one person? Hopefully AM can shed some light on these questions...
