From May 7th, until the 22nd, MS had all that time to tell MM all the gory details and I'm sure he did. They lived together and were pretty much together 24/7 other than her piddly little part time job taking her away from MS. I don't think MM is lying, I just think so far is holding information back about what MS told her about the theft, murder and incinerating their victim. Which stands to reason. She has to stick to her initial statement to LE now. Anything new she might add, DM's defense will pounce all over her and make her out to be a unreliable witness. Let's just call her young, naive and stupid for her mistake of not pushing MS to go to LE with his version of what happened, or going to them herself with what she knew back then. MS may not be sitting where he is today had he gone to LE between TB's murder and DM's arrest if he wasn't the actual murderer. MOO.

MM may have been the only one to ask DM about the having an animal incinerator, but no animals. His other friends may have been suspicious, but she actually asked. She was very young at the time. JMO

She even noticed she got no answer! "He left it at that." - DM's usual reaction to unwanted questions, as we know now (SS for ex.).

When exactly was it announced on the news that Millard was arrested? We've heard that he was arrested around 7:35pm on May 10. Meneses testified today that she saw it on the news later that evening. She said to Smich, "Why is your friend on the news and why is he getting arrested for that?" And then Smich grabbed her phone and started making calls. This must have been just after 9pm according to the call logs. I don't recall the arrest being announced so quickly.

Another peculiar thing is that Millard stopped by Speers Rd for about 50 minutes -- from about 6:30pm to 7:20pm -- shortly before he got arrested in Mississauga. We didn't hear anything from Meneses about this visit. Perhaps she wasn't home at that time, but Smich was?

I don't know what time of day this article from the Canadian Press/Vancouver Sun was posted, but it states it's from May 10, 2013. Perhaps it was on the news the same day DM was arrested. MOO

I bet the defense will be eating that up and questioning her about her original version if it was important details. Off hand Snooper, do you know what she said that the Crown had to "refresh" her memory on? Was it just something she couldn't recall what she had said originally? MOO.

As far as the arrest, AFAIK, the LE didn't announce it until Saturday morning- May 11th, however, JV also said he heard it on the news on the Friday night. Is it possible that one of the stations broke it early? Seems strange that there'd be 2 witnesses saying they learned of it on the Friday night. I'm leaning more to them hearing about it Saturday morning when LE gave their press conference, but in the MM case, it would make more sense if it was on the Friday night because MS moved quickly to get the drugs out of Maple Gate. MOO

One refresher was about her not remembering them saying they successfully stole the truck when she got in the Yukon. She validated that by saying DM said mission successful. MOO

Thanks, I guess it hit the news pretty quick! Less than 2 hours after his arrest, Millard's name was released on the news. It's hard to find sources like the one you linked above since many were updated with more information after May 10.

"Immediately" after being arrested...

I know everyone thinks in a perfect world everyone goes and talks to the police as soon as they know something. After talking to a family friend who was formerly a Crown and now Judge he said in most cases people do not talk in these serious crimes until the perps are behind bars. After the arrests witnesses have a feeling of safety to tell their story and most admit they should've came forward sooner. However, fear takes over. This is the case for young and old.

Of course she is, because now, it's real. She knows him, she can't avoid it, she can't ignore the nagging voice in the back of her head. Shes the most real witness so far, she's admits she screwed up, she admits she didn't want to know more. So many people judging her on what she should have done. Of course, she SHOULD have done something. But she was 18, in a bad circle and honestly, it's easy for us to say what we would have done at 18 in that exact situation.

I believe she was scared "shoeless"...the prevailing ''snitches get stitches or get found in ditches'' I believe played foremost in her mind. This was a rougher moment than she could have ever anticipated. She was barely out of her parent's house at this point - totally adrift. MOO

You're welcome. Googled,"DM (full name) arrested", & used the search tools, customized the search date from May 10/2013 to May 10/2013. Definitely makes it easier to find that way....in case you're looking for something on a specific date in the future, this tool definitely helps.

Absolutely agree.....the question is how did MS know about DM's arrest only a couple of hours after it happened on Friday? He was calling AM to make arrangements to get the drugs at 9:20 pm and DM was only arrested around 7:30pm. Most MSM reported the arrest on Saturday. But this seems to have been answered that some outlets must have reported this Friday night. Considering AM's arrest was never made public (to my knowledge) this still seems fast.....hoping we hear more about this.....MOO

Something's wonky with that article. Tim went missing Monday, May 6, the article is dated May 10 which is the following Friday, but the body of the article makes reference to the search for Tim still ongoing Saturday afternoon (which could only have been May 11).

I suspect the Vancouver Sun updated a May 10 article AFTER his arrest was announced Saturday .. makes it look like they got dibs on the news
