#Smich wanted to move to Calgary, where his sister Andrea was living.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
There was also talk of Smich wanting to move to Calgary in May 2013--and take the Cadillac. His sister Andrea was living there. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 54s55 seconds ago
#Smich wanted to take the red cadillac to Calgary.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 19s20 seconds ago
Seeing a photo of a briefcase full of papers and walkie talkies. She's seen them before--they were Millard's. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
He'd once asked her to use them to help him out, Sachak suggests. She says she can't totally remember. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
Now looking at a photo of walkie-talkies in a briefcase. Meneses says they were #Millards.

I don't catch your drift... my opinion agrees with your argument. Her "truth" at the time was tainted by her youth and love for this guy. There are obvious holes in her story. If I were a juror, that would not go unnoticed and I would tend to doubt her statement that MS had nothing to do with the shooting. I think we are on the same page Inspector_North, but I'm not exactly sure lol

I just believe we should sleuth out the truth, or at least identify a particular testimony as a suspect for lack of supporting evidence. I understand you have a reason that she may be doing it, but it's really about the truth as it pertains to the case.

What does her youth and love for this guy do for the Bosma family getting justice? We are both saying she is lying, but what exactly is she lying about? Is she lying about their mood when she got in the Yukon? Because like someone said, that was plastered in the news this past weekend as if it was the truth.

Sachak suggests it was to be a lookout. Yeah, she says. #Bosma

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 2m2 minutes ago
Jury seeing pictures of a briefcase w walki talkies. Menese used them for lookouts during missions. @AM900CHML #TimBosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
Meneses "kinda remembers" #Millard asking her to be a lookout with the walkie talkies. She didn't actually do it. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 33s33 seconds ago
Sachak: Dell would tell Smich to get a license, get a job--fair?
Fair, she says. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 37s37 seconds ago
#Millard would tell #Smich to get a driver's license, get a job, stop drinking. #Smich never followed through

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 17s17 seconds ago
#Smich nickname was "Juice," because of the amount of alcohol he consumed, Meneses says.

  • #224
Millard would tell Smich he should get a licence, Sachak says. He'd also tell him to get a job - but that didn't happen, Sachak says. He also told him to stop drinking so much. Meneses agrees.
by Adam Carter 2:34 PM

Sachak now asking about Saturday, May 4.
by Adam Carter 2:36 PM

"Dellen didn't make it a secret that he was going to steal a truck. It was there for you to see and hear, right?" Sachak asks. "Right," Meneses says.
by Adam Carter 2:36 PM

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 50s51 seconds ago
He says similarly, like her, Dell would tell Smich to stop drinking so much. He liked to drink (hence the nickname Juice). She agrees #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 35s35 seconds ago
But she agrees with him Smich was his own man, didn't always listen, "chose his own path in life." #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 34s34 seconds ago
Sachak clarifies that #Smich didn't always follow #Millard instructions. "He followed his own path in life, right?"

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 7s8 seconds ago
Sachak focusing now on Sat May 4, 2013. Millard was on the computer at Maplegate, Smich Michalski and her were there. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 52s52 seconds ago
Millard made it no secret he planned to steal a truck, she agrees. And Smich was going to steal it with him. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 51s51 seconds ago
#Millard didn't make a secret of the fact he was going to steal a truck. No secret #Smich was going to help. They talked openly about it

"He was free to choose his own path and his own destiny, right?" Sachak asks about Smich. "Right," Meneses says.
by Adam Carter 2:37 PM

"Dellen was not the kind of guy you'd confide in," Sachak says, and Meneses agrees.
by Adam Carter 2:38 PM

"But you didn't go and rat him out because he was your boyfriend. You were loyal to him, and faithful to him," Sachak says. "Yeah," Meneses responds.

She told Smich not to do it. But Smich does what he wants, Sachak suggests. She agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 24s25 seconds ago
Meneses told #Smich not to go along with the theft. #Smich didn't listen to her. He makes his own choices, Sachak establishes

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Millard also made it clear he was going to first take the truck for a test drive, she agrees. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
She and Millard had some issues. Not best friends, she agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
Meneses and #Millard had issues. "Dellen was not the kind of guy you would confide in." Right. And yet he has no prob talking about stealing

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Even knowing their plans, she didn't rat them out. Because Smich was her boyfriend, she was loyal to him she agrees. #Bosma

Her youth and love for this guy goes towards the credibility of her statement, which she is on the stand testifying to. In my eyes that has a pretty direct impact on justice for Tim Bosma.

Now onto Sun May 5. She's at Smich's house with him. Sachak suggests she knew he'd gone for a test drive with Dellen. She says no. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 10s11 seconds ago
She knew about the Monday test drive not Sunday. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 23s24 seconds ago
Sachak apologizes, yes that's what she testified. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 18s19 seconds ago
But still she says you don't have to do that. "But he didn't care to listen to you," Sachak says. "Right," she says. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 30s31 seconds ago
Meneses told #Smich not to do the test drive on May 6, but "he didn't care to listen to you." Right. The day before he was hung over, vomit

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 43s44 seconds ago
On May 5, Smich was so hungover he was vomiting. But still was prepared to go out on May 6. #Bosma

On Sunday May 5, Smich said he was going on a test drive the next day. Meneses told him not to, she says. "But Mr. Smich does what he wants, right?" Sachak says. "Right," Meneses says.
by Adam Carter 2:41 PM

Meneses told him more than once not to do it. "But he was adamant he was going to do it," Sachak says. He's doing this in an effort to show that Smich was making his own decisions.
by Adam Carter 2:43 PM

"The reason he gave you is he wanted the money. He didn't have a job ... that was what was motivating him, above anything else," Sachak says. Meneses agrees.
by Adam Carter 2:45 PM

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s29 seconds ago
Sachak suggests Smich was to be an active participant in the theft, not just to join for the drive. He was helping Dell. She agrees. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 26s26 seconds ago
Because he wanted money. "In fact that was the sole motivator for stealing, was to get money," Sachak says. She agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 26s26 seconds ago
#Smich couldn't hold onto a job -- just did odd jobs. He was motivated by money - that's why he stole, Meneses says.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 19s19 seconds ago
After #Bosma's death, Sachak says, Smich is annoyed because he didn't get all of the money. She agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 17s18 seconds ago
#Smich complained about not getting money after theft of #Bosma truck, Meneses says

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 7s8 seconds ago
Sachak: you must've thought that's pretty odd. You're worried about money while the #Bosma family is grieving the loss of their son.

  • #234
Sachak says Meneses must have thought it odd that Smich was worried about money when the Bosma family was mourning the loss of their son. Meneses agrees.
by Adam Carter 2:46 PM

Sachak says he's going into a "sensitive area," now.
by Adam Carter 2:46 PM

"It was at times horrific, right?" Sachak says. Meneses agrees. "He was abusive, wasn't he? He hit you?"
by Adam Carter 2:47 PM

Meneses just says "yeah," with her voice warbling.

Meneses agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 18s18 seconds ago
Now to a sensitive area, Sachak says. It's important the jury understand your full relationship.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 18s19 seconds ago
Sachak says he's now going to go into a "sensitive area." #Bosma

Millard's lawyer now wanting to talk to Meneses about the dynamics of her relationship with Smich. Calls it, at times, 'horrific' #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 39s39 seconds ago
Meneses told the jury on her first day on the stand that #Smich wasn't "always the greatest" to her. Sachak suggests it was horrific

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 35s35 seconds ago
Sachak suggests their relationship was "at times horrific." She agrees. Sachak suggests he was abusive, hit her. She agrees. #Bosma

I've been wondering who and when someone was going to ask her this.

Millard's lawyer: He hit you, he controlled you. Meneses: Yeah #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
#Smich was abusive. He hit her. He controlled her. Meneses agrees, tearfully

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 59s59 seconds ago
Sachak: he controlled you. You were 19. You left your home for him. Once you found your way into his house the relationship changed. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
She agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago

IMHO, he's establishing that MS was interested and motivated because DM was going to pay him. Now, if he could kindly remind me what was motivating a fine outstanding citizen like DM? Or, am I to believe that DM was doing this as a make-work project for MS? I'm thinking Sachak should just pass the baton to Dungey before he makes DM look worse. I for one never thought that DM would be paying MS for his assistance- up until now I thought MS was being motivated by the thrill right along side DM; the guy who could buy the truck? MOO

Meneses is wiping tears. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
"You really had nowhere to go did you," Sachak says. "No," she says. Things at her mom's weren't good either. Problems with stepdad. #Bosma

Alex Pierson ‏@AlexpiersonAMP 1m1 minute ago
Meneses breaks down in tears. She had nowhere to go. She is 19. @AM900CHML #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Sachak suggests now as an adult looking back she can see the "prism of their relationship." She agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
"Where are you going as a 19 year old? Not back to your mom." She agrees the relationship was complex, and she was under #Smich control

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
It was "pure love" Sachak suggests "Because you had nobody else at that time in your life." She agrees. #Bosma

"You really had nowhere to go, did you? You had to put up with the man who hits you, right?" Sachak says. Meneses looks at the ceiling and answers yes.
by Adam Carter 2:48 PM

Sachak says Smich would hit her, and call her "his *****." Meneses agrees.
by Adam Carter 2:49 PM

"He said to you, 'you better work. If you don't work, you'll be on the streets,'" Sachak says. "So you worked. You supported him. You paid for him." Meneses says yes.
