But that is the thing. These letters were meant only for CN's eyes. They weren't meant to be read in court. They have to be read with the mindset that only CN was supposed to see them. Otherwise the words can definitely be misconstrued and put in a different context.

So he wasn't saying AM knew nothing for the sake of others who would eventually read this. He was ranting to CN that AM knew nothing and what he did know, he told police and it was the most damning thing to DM's case.

MOO.

Are letters not screened by the prison before they are sent out? Hmmm????

So, he was on psych watch right from the get go. Suicide watch? Would they have actually kept him naked or is that just Dell being Dell? The mention of jam and bread right after that makes me think he's practicing his usual creative writing skills.

I was blown away by the reading of the letters today. There's lots of incriminating evidence in them as well as some really crazy stuff. A bit of a view into his psyche. The line about going from crying to smiling after looking at his tat is hilarious!

The letters are a terrifying glimpse into his brain, and I'm reminded more and more of Ted Bundy.

If there are lurkers who are only following this case due to being local, and haven't typically followed true crime before, check out "The Stranger Beside Me". A newbie crime writer in the 70s realized over the course of a few years that an acquaintance of hers was a serial killer police had been searching for. His name was Ted Bundy. DM's letters to CN remind me of Bundy's letters to that writer, Ann Rule, who wrote The Stranger Beside Me.

I have to say Bundy was somewhat more subtle with his manipulation than Dell. But Bundy's jailhouse letters have that same tone; whiny and martyred, yet ultimately egotistical. It's been a while since I read The Stranger Beside Me, but I think Bundy came off as slightly more intelligent, and didn't use the same level of "purple" prose as Dell. But I'm sure someone else in this thread can refresh my memory on that. (Oops, I'm channeling Noudga.)

Well, DM has just sealed his fate with those letters. Guilty for sure. MS is guilty too. Sucks to be them right now!

  • #825
YES, TB is still missing at this point and they knew it!!!!!
Go to the police,
Call Crimestoppers
but no, they are worried about finger prints.

Mama B and CN.....get ready for it, KARMA will hit you HUGE!!!!!

The fact that they did this tells me that whether they knew or not, at the very least they both firmly believed that he was capable of committing this crime. And that speaks volumes coming from the 2 people who love him the most in this world. JMO

They planned to sail around the world. "I wanted us to set sail, just you, me and Pedo." Sets out their route: Norway, Iceland, Scotland..

He lists all the countries they'd visit. "I'd hoped to time our ship's return to Canada with you pregnant." #Bosma

Millard describes all the countries they would visit with their sailboat. They'd go back to Canada with Noudga pregnant. #TimBosma

I thought the plan was to go west?

I wonder if MB helped coach DM in what to write in his letters since she was the go-between. e.g. love, babies, etc

You could have a point here. After "copious" amount of wine, CN may have let her let her guard down and shown MB what her weakness(es) and insecurities were.

I don't think this the case you're thinking of, but Clifford Olson did make a deal where he got cash for telling police where to find the bodies of his victims. See the whole ghastly story here:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...th-of-clifford-olson/article4197011/?page=all

and scroll down to "Cash for Bodies Deal"

The one I was recalling was in Ontario Canada. It involved a husband who murdered his wife. He would not tell the family where her body was and then in the end he tried to plea bargain his sentence. And I think was successful. Family wanted to know where the body was. It was maybe 30 years ago.

I would think, unless there are still complexities of Canadian law I don't understand, that if they were going to bother charging MB with anything they would have by now.

Noudga also wrote to Millard — but those letters were not recovered by police. Only unsent drafts were found in the search of her bedroom. The jury heard she also sent him sexy photos of herself as well as a paw print from his beloved dog, Pedo.

She said she would send notes (and receive his) through his mother, Madeleine Burns.

I wonder if there is anything useful to this case or the others in her "draft" letters?

This floors me! LE picks up binders of incriminating correspondence from a private residence under a DNC order. I assume the equivalent of War & Peace has gone in the other direction but not a scrap of that evidence turns up in a maximum security lock-up!

Now that what we know DM was so scared of and wanted changed in someone's testimony was the question to AM about whose truck to steal, is anyone willing to see if there were tweets of DM's reaction or attitude during that testimony?? He must have been seeing red that CN didn't get AM to change his statement.

MOO.

Yes, hence the need for a "personal courier."

Oh...and how did mommy dearest manage to get them in and out. Do you not have to check all of your belongings before you meet with the prisoner? Do they have camera's in the cell? Does she visit him like on TV with a window and a phone between them? Not experienced in how one would visit someone in prison. do you actually sit without a window between the criminal and the visitor?

I'm not quite following what you think happened to Noudga's outgoing letters?

Hi Mozzagirl, do you know if there are tweets to his reaction today? No worries if you don't know.

CN keeping or destroying the letter probably didn't depend on whether she followed through on DM's requests in them or not. She kept them because she apparently felt sentimental about them.

So, hypothetically, even if AM did change his statement to what DM wanted and then the letters were found anyways, AM would have been questioned in court or otherwise about why his change in statement seems to coincide exactly with what DM requested in his letter.

IMO, Crown lawyers don't get where they are by not being smart. To be a Crown lawyer you have to be pretty brilliant, so DM's simple games wouldn't fool them considering the evidence they had on these two accused.

MOO.

  • #836
Thankfully the Crown wouldn't have pulled a CN with the evidence.

"Oh CN says she never did *blank* but the evidence proved she did. The evidence MUST be wrong."

Hah. No. Unfortunately for the clowns charged in this murder LE and the Crown don't work that way.

Apparently while the letters were read he clenched his jaw, was flushed and blinking a lot.

Millard says "just staying quiet has been an immense help already. If Mark and Andrew had done the same this would be a lot easier."

"Poor Andrew. Sh** his pants and spilled his guts. And treacherous Mark; got himself charged by trying to put it on me."

He then goes on about how he realizes how much he loves her "now that I'm facing life in prison." #Bosma

There you have it folks!!!!

I mentioned it when the letters were introduced, but it reminds me of Francis Walsingham getting Mary, Queen of Scots to implicate herself in an assassination plot by allowing her "secret" correspondence with plotters to go on. Give them enough rope to hang themselves.

That is an interesting observation....how does that happen in a maximum security lock-up?
