"I'm going to suggest to you sir that just like the test drive the day before, Mr. Millard wanted to ensure whatever truck he's scoping for drives well on the highway," Sachak says. "I'm going to suggest to you sir that you had a handgun in that red hoodie." "Nope," Smich says. "At the point you pulled the gun out, and you says, we're going to take the truck or something like that. Del says oh no. Further, you said, 'don't worry when Dell said oh no."
by Adam Carter 12:23 PM

"Mr. Bosma grabbed the gun that was pointing at him. At that point there was a struggle, and the gun was discharged ... I'm going to suggest to you Mr. Bosma was struck and the window was shattered," Sachak says. Smich denies all of that.

Smich sticks to his story of seeing Millard put gun away then seeing #Bosma dead on dashboard

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s30 seconds ago
Sachak suggests that Millard then swerved on the shoulder of the highway right after #Bosma was shot.

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 26s27 seconds ago
Sachak is alleging Smich pulled out a gun in the truck while on the 403, there was a struggle, and #Bosma was shot. #TimBosma #HamOnt

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 21s22 seconds ago
When Dell said that, Bosma grabbed gun that was pointing at him. There was a struggle and the gun was discharged.

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 16s17 seconds ago
Smich denies all of that. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 45s45 seconds ago
Smich says the only time they went on the highway was on the way back. Sachak says there was a lot of tension in the car

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 42s42 seconds ago
Smich says no, they didn't take the highway--only on the way to Ancaster. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 34s35 seconds ago
Sachak says there was tension in the truck and talk of maybe calling an ambulance, and that Smich said "he's dead." Smich says no.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 43s44 seconds ago
"I'm going to suggest there was a reference to getting an ambulance, and you said, he's dead. Dell panicked bc his Yukon was still in field

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 40s41 seconds ago
"Mr. Millard was furious as to what had transpired," Sachak says. #TimBosma #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 44s45 seconds ago
"There was reference to getting an ambulance or something, and you said he's dead." Smich says "absolutely not." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 32s33 seconds ago
Sachak suggests Millard then panicked because his Yukon was in the field, and because his face had been seen at #Bosma house.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 50s51 seconds ago
"Dell panicked because he had been seen by Sharlene Bosma and Wayne De Boer. What happened was, he said, I'm going to be blamed."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 49s50 seconds ago
Smich says no. Absolutely not.

"Mr. Millard was furious as to what had transpired," Sachak says. "There was reference to getting an ambulance or something, and you said he's dead." Smich says "absolutely not."
by Adam Carter 12:25 PM

Sachak says Millard panicked because he knows he was seen. He said, 'I'm going to be blamed for this.'" Smich again says "absolutely not."
by Adam Carter 12:26 PM

Sachak says that they then took the exit on Wilson Street. Smich says that's impossible. He says that Millard then turned around and went west on the 403 to Trinity Road.

Wow, DM's version of events is so ... fake.

  • #146
Oh wow, now we're getting to it.

"It had always been his idea to get a Dodge 3500," Sachak says.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 38s39 seconds ago
Sachak suggests Millard was then concerned he'd be "blamed for this." #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
Sachak suggests Smich said "don't worry" and then #TimBosma grabbed the gun. There was a struggle and the gun was discharged.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
"Mr. Bosma was struck & the window was shattered." Dell swerved the vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway right after Mr. Bosma was shot.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Mr. MIllard was absolutely furious about what had just transpired. There was some talk about getting an ambulance. You said, he's dead.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
"I'm going to suggest, in that state of panic, he wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, took the exit on Wilson St..."

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Millard worried because Sharlene and Wayne had seen his face. "

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak suggests that in state of panic, Millard takes the exit on Wilson St. Smich says they didn't take the hwy "so that's impossible."

  • #148
Argh, Sachak has me so primed NOT to believe a word he says, how on earth is the jury going to deal with this?

  • #149
They could have certainly had someone else analyze the video footage, not just Plaxton. They are going by his record and disregarding it.

They're not disregarding Plaxton at all. In fact it was through him that they elicited the evidence about the earlier truck sightings, and he agreed that the truck(s) could be Tim's and were consistent. They have issue with the accuracy of the timestamp on the video, which was established before Plaxton did his analysis and is in fact independent of it.

  • #150
Sachak says that's why we see the Bosma truck going back on the video. Smich says no. "Because of Dells actions, a lot of people are suffering right now," Smich says.
by Adam Carter 12:28 PM

Sachak says they got back to the field where the truck was, and he followed Millard in the Yukon. Smich again denies that.
by Adam Carter 12:29 PM

"I'm going to suggest the plan was Dell wanted his GMC Yukon out of the field area because he was concerned he'd be caught red handed," Sachak says. Smich says that's not what happened.
by Adam Carter 12:29 PM

  • #151
There's an obvious time discrepancy between the cell towers and the security video. Adjust for that discrepancy, and all of the evidence lines up.

But it still doesn't prove one way or the other if the truck traveling alone was Tim's truck. Plenty of reasonable doubt there, since even the expert couldn't say for sure. One thing is for sure though: either MS is lying or Sachak is using this to his advantage to trash MS's story. It could be either one.

"His truck was still by the Bosma residence and his dog was in the GMC Yukon. And he said 'I'm going to be blamed for this.'

Sachak suggests there was tension. Millard was furious. There was talk of calling an ambulance and Smich said "he's dead." #TimBosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Smich disagrees. Sachak continues. "Millard went back... that's the second drive back toward the Super Sucker video."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
He suggests Millard then goes back west on 403 toward Trinity Rd, exits south on Trinity--which is that second pass of SuperSuckers.

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 2m2 minutes ago
He says that Millard then turned around and went west on the 403 to Trinity Road. #TimBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Millard exits on Wilson, turns, goes back to Trinity Road, passes by Super Sucker again, suggests Sachak. Smich is denying all of this.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Smich again says no. "Sir the timing would be impossible first of all." #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
"Sir, the timing would be impossible, first of all, second because of Dell a lot of people are hurting... I've made a lot of improvements.."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Smich adds that "because of Millard's actions a lot of people are suffering." #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 2m2 minutes ago

I actually have to agree with DM's defence on this one. The trucks spotted on the video at 9:05pm, 9:15pm, and 9:20pm are all TB's truck IMO. Same overall profile, same running lights, same shiny rims, same chrome running boards, etc.

The fact that the video times don't line up perfectly with the cell tower ping times is simply due to a slight time discrepancy between the two sources. If they're out by just a few minutes, then all of the evidence lines up perfectly.

This is revealing one of the major holes in MS's story, and I'm glad to see that MS is getting called out on it.

This.

Everyone check their watches, right now. I guarantee one of ours is two, three, maybe five minutes off everyone else's.

Sure, the cell phone pings are likely accurate, but what if the Super Sucker video is off? If it is three hours off, it is unreasonable that the stamp is three hours and five minutes off? So maybe the ACTUAL time this vehicle passes the camera are 9:10 (North), 9:20 (South) and 9:25 (North). Changes things, doesn't it?

With that said, I think Tealgove said she has a friend that lives right near the Bosmas with an almost identical truck. It could very well be his.

"So I never have to be around a lunatic like him again," Smich says. He disagrees with Sachak's scenario.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
"...I've been trying to take positive actions so I never have to be involved with a lunatic like him again."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
He says that since being in jail he's tried to make positive changes to "never be involved with a lunatic like him" again.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
"Good for you," Sachak says. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak says they got back to the field where the truck was, and he followed Millard in the Yukon. Smich again denies that. #TimBosma #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak suggests Millard panicked because his SUV was near the #Bosma house and people he seen him there.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak goes on; they went back to Yukon then Smich got in to drive. Sachak says that's the last video, with 2 vehicles leaving.

Yup, most definitely watching us here! A few of us said this a long while back in discussions.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak says they then got back to the field. And that as the truck leaves again with Yukon behind it, that's the 3rd pass of SuperSuckers.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak says third pass by Super Sucker would have Smich following in Yukon. "Dell wanted his GMC out of the field because he was..."

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak suggests Millard believed he would be blamed for this because he was the one who wanted the truck. #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 2m2 minutes ago
Smich says that is not what happened. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 2m2 minutes ago
Millard wanted the GMC out of the field because he'd be caught, and also because his dog was in the Yukon. #TimBosma

Sachak. I'm going to suggest 1st time u go north on trinity east on 403. All 3 of u. Millard told Bosma he wanted to go on hwy." @AM900CHML

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Sachak "Your version of events, that there was only 1 drive north on Trinity with the Bosma truck and the Yukon, is incorrect."

Sachak keeps saying that Millard's truck was "secreted" in the field.
by Adam Carter 12:30 PM

Sachak says Smich's version of events is "incorrect." Smich says "No sir, that's the truth."
by Adam Carter 12:31 PM

Sachak ask what route was taken to Bobcat of Brantford. "We took side roads, and I just followed. I'm not familiar with the area," Smich said.
by Adam Carter 12:33 PM

Smich says the only time they took the highway was coming to the Bosma home the first time.
by Adam Carter 12:33 PM

I agree that the timestamps could be off, but why do you think the Crown didn't include them (9:05 and 9:15 trucks) in the initial testimony?

Because they didn't want to open a can of worms that the timestamp could indeed be off, and it does nothing to show they worked together (two vehicles)? Just a thought.

  • #159
I think DM's scenario is just as plausbile as MS'. In a way, I think it fits the timeline better. BUT.....I don't believe either story. They're both tailoring their stories to fit the evidence. We'll never know exactly what happened. I believe they both went into this expecting to use the incinerator that night. I'm baffled at how many people are so eager to accept what MS has to say. It's almost like a disgust for DM and his defense has translated into accepting MS' lies. MOO

This.

I think Tealgove said she has a friend that lives right near the Bosmas with an almost identical truck. It could very well be his.

It's rural canada, everyone drives a pickup truck out there
