I am confused to figure out how DM andMS were actually planning to steal a truck.
They admitted, they wanted to steal atruck. I don't believe either of the two were capable to mobilize that truck without a key. Why was that never brought up?
So what other options did they have?They needed the keys. They planned to murder someone. Sure didn't take them long to conclude to use the “incinerator” that DM justso happened to have, after the gun was discharged.


I do believe they had a plan, it's possible TB put up a fight and messed up their plan. We will never know.
These two accused I do think, felt they were invincible and would be able to cover their tracks. And didn't expect LE and the media to to be on their trail as fast and hard as they did.


Keystone robbers comes to mind of these two dimwits.

And the main advantage having a Diesel vs Gas engine has little to do with fuel economy. Both about the same with Diesel have slightly better mileage. Not enough to recover the extra cost of the Diesel option, on average of a $12,000 extra.
The main advantages of a Diesel are more power (torque/hp), engine built stronger (lasts longer) and Diesel fuel is usually cheaper then unleaded gas.

It's no excuse, it's a very commonly used word to refer to modifying. Sure he could have been referring to dismemberment, but he could have also been referring to modifying the machine in some way to make it mobile, since it wasn't a mobile unit.

Chopping isn't commonly used in that context. As far as I know it really has two meanings 1) to chop a stolen car in to sellable parts, or 2) to lower the suspension or roofline to create a low-rider. Neither apply to anything you'd do with an incinerator.

No it does not make sense... for one killing.
However, neither the gun, nor the incinerator, were disposable items. So the capital cost could be amortized across multiple homicides. If LE had not caught DM and MS, they would have continued.
LB, TB, Victim c,Victim d,Victim e,Victim f,Victim g etc, bigger more dangerous missions per DM to AM.

So true ... Perhaps they were even planning on selling their services to other criminal gangs to "disappear" people/bodies, thus collecting the $100,000 a month from that enterprise?

Something that has been bothering me for a long time:

If the reason DM and MS didn't hide their faces because the plan all along was to eliminate the witness (and that makes sense, if that was the plan), then why did they not go back and harm SN and WDB as well? Of course I'm thankful they did NOT, but they were certainly witnesses as much as Tim was. I know it would only be speculation on any of our parts to answer that but it's just one of those things that has always bothered me because it doesn't add up.

They had to know SB and WDB could identify them, as much as Tim could, right?

I am seeing some contradictions in Leith's closing that don't help his point. He said earlier that Millard didn't hide his faces because he likes to take risks, but here he is saying his likes to take precautions.

They planned out out every detail, but not the details like bringing two people to the door to be seen only to drop one off 500m away to follow in another vehicle.

Or that they planned to do it at the farm but then realized that they had no power. They would have known the eliminator needed power and that the farm had none before that night. And apparently they had had about a week to prepare the generator and bring it to the farm but didn't. They were still left unprepared when it happened, which still makes me think it wasn't a part of the plan.

MS f'ed up, in my opinion. And in his too, I guess.
