Boy From the Woods

Finally, they posted a photo - and more information on his DNA.

Edit: There is also a full body photo and some pictures of his hiking gear at the official police website:

http://www.berlin.de/polizei/presse-fahndung/archiv/371400/index.html

did everyone notice how 'new' his hiking gear looks? there's no way that gear was used in the forest for five years!

the gold chain around his neck with the "D" is not a woman's chain

I think his real name obviously starts with a "D"

not sure what his purpose would be in concocting such a story, unless he was a victim of child trafficking and escaped or something similar ...

the fact that he stops talking when they question details makes me suspicious but for what gain? it's not like he's scamming a wealthy family ...

he's definately lying IMO but the truth might be that he is a victim of something horrible in another country

I thought Ben's mother said it wasn't him?

This reminds me a whole lot of the guy who was supposedly beaten half to death and left behind a dumpster in Georgia. You know, the one with amnesia? I'm 42 years old and I've been looking at teenagers for a lotta years. If I had to guess I'd say this boy isn't a day under 28 years old. And that's just my opinion.

His hiking gear looks relatively new.

Occam's razor would say this is an illegal immigrant from somewhere in Eastern Europe who snuck over the border and purchased the camping gear locally.

But wouldn't someone be looking for him? His parents? Siblings? Aunts/Cousins? Friends? Teachers? :waitasec:

I just started following this story yesterday and had to comment. I'm not sure that this is the young man but some details are ironic.

Maybe mom did pass away and this man raised him as his own until his passing.

OMG! I think that may be Ray. Mother's name starts with a D and the boy's name is Raymond.

Will you be informing German authorities? What does one do with the lead? I think you figured it out!! Good job! :woohoo:

His case was removed from NCMEC? Maybe that's why they can't get a match of missing kids? Wonder why it was removed?

Well that is very weird isn't it.

We don't seem to have a thread on WS for Justin Jeschke or at least my search turned up nothing. Did you search NAMUS?

I had seen it on the doe network and thought it was strangely familiar. I don't know what we would need to do. I just hope this gets resolved.

When you look at Debra's photo and "Ray" as an adult, there are some serious similarities...the nose! and the mouth, and the eyes w/ "bags"...

This could be a good, good match here...I looked at Debra, and thought "wow."

Glad to know that follow-up is being done, and very good spot for you, HopefulOptimistic!

He certainly does bear a strong resemblance to Debra. Coincidence or not?
Also that missing child is supposed to go by the name of "Raymond"
So it's interesting.
