In most cases, I'd agree with you Birdie. However, in this case, I must disagree. I think that ATTENTION needs to be paid to the enormous amount of work still to be done in order to get New Orleans up and running. I think its been put on the back burner for too long. Folks need to return there, but without even the most basic of services (i.e., water, electricity, schools, retail stores, restaurants, etc.), its all but impossible. If Brad Pitt can get attention (which we all know he can) and then take that attention and shine a spotlight on what still needs to be done, then I say more power to him. He's not only donated massive amounts of cash, but his time as well. Seems to me that those who are supposed to be in charge of the rebuilding have been sitting around with their thumbs up their butts. If Brad, whose not even a citizen of that city, can call the elected officials on the carpet and make them do their jobs, why not?
