Brad Pitt Doing Some Good In New Orleans

In most cases, I'd agree with you Birdie. However, in this case, I must disagree. I think that ATTENTION needs to be paid to the enormous amount of work still to be done in order to get New Orleans up and running. I think its been put on the back burner for too long. Folks need to return there, but without even the most basic of services (i.e., water, electricity, schools, retail stores, restaurants, etc.), its all but impossible. If Brad Pitt can get attention (which we all know he can) and then take that attention and shine a spotlight on what still needs to be done, then I say more power to him. He's not only donated massive amounts of cash, but his time as well. Seems to me that those who are supposed to be in charge of the rebuilding have been sitting around with their thumbs up their butts. If Brad, whose not even a citizen of that city, can call the elected officials on the carpet and make them do their jobs, why not?

If he did say it, it's a good thing, why can't gays get married legally..

Gays can't get married legally because we Americans are totally preoccupied with sex...we can't get other people's sex lives out of our dirty little minds...and if we think people are having sex that's a LITTLE more interesting than the sex we are having, we're so terrified, we want to make it illegal and we're not about to sanction it!!

I doubt Brad is concerned about gays having the right to marry, unless Angelina tells him to be concerned. It's an excuse IMO as to why they aren't gettng married.

I don't think it's legal here either.
I guess if they let gays get married, it opens up a can of worms in that every minority group will want something.
I don't know, but I think if two people love each other and those two people aren't harming anyone, why not?
Seems unfair to me.

My friend had an internet romance with an Australian and he told her that in Australia, it's much more socially acceptable to get pregnant and start a family without getting married than it is here in the States. Any truth to that, in your opinion?

I have alot of friends who are together and have kids but aren't married.

I only got married because of the bossy mother in law, my child was three months old and came to the wedding

Having said that, not everyone is unmarried....I know lots of married people too lol

I saw this the other day. IMO, this doesn't sound like anything that Brad thought of on his own, it sounds more like an excuse for Angelina to not marry him and he conveniently latched onto it to save face. But that is JMO.
