I heard on radio from several good sources that Karr is going to represent himself at his extradition hearing this morning.

Carol McKinley on Peter Boyles talk show Denver KHOW.com, this morning said it would not surprise her if AFTER this mornings hearing, there would be a charter plane to take him directly to Boulder.

You want up to date stuff on the case, Peter Boyles on from 5 AM til 9 AM each day. Go to KHOW.com link for listening to program live.

Pete has followed this case religiously from day one. He will have Marc Klaas on this morning also.

Locals who have not followed the case, are tarring and feathering Peter!!! Even has had death threats about his position on the R case.

.
Thanks for that info. I listened for the first time this morning and found it very current and informative....

I would like to see the daily Breaking News thread kept to just facts, and no comment so that the pages donut run into the dead sea scrolls length so fast that WE cannot keep up with current BREAKING NEWS.

.

So maybe we can have an 8/22 comment thread.

Hello Lighthouselover,

You wrote:
>>This is what I want to know, as a result of his first "confession", was he ever investigated in 2001? If not, why not? If so, what were the results of the investigation?

Exactly... Who did that investigating? Surely whoever did it, if they were being responsible, asked Lara (his wife at the time) where JMK was on 25th/26th December. At the time of his "so-called" confessions to Wendy Hutchens (and the tape recordings), i.e. in April 2001, Lara and JMK were still married. Certainly, a memory of only 5 years before (2001 minus 1996) would not have been so hard to dredge up at that time. The critical question per whether the confession could be true HAD to be, "Is it possible that he could have been in Boulder on 25th/26th of Dec. in 1996. Where is the file, who has the file on that investigation? Over what length of time did that investigation last? Per Wendy, I believe, the FBI was called in at the time.

They held JMK in jail from April to October 2001 (with a bail of 100K that they would not lower to 50K when asked) and my thinking is that the reason why they did that had far more to do with buying time to investigate JMK's "so-called" confession per JBR. I am even a bit suspicious of the allegation about 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 found on his machine. IF JMK was researching for the book he said he was writing, did those pictures have to do with his research, something needed for the book? One of the news articles pointed out that in one of the court hearings after his arrest in 2001, JMK offered for LE to view the book on his computer. They had, however, already confiscated his computer and found the photos.

IF it is true that the guy offered LE to go to his computer and view the book, what was his point? Did those photos have anything to do with the research?

On the news the other night, there was a gent who was doing some research and came across some child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the web. He went to authorities. Had he not done so while he was doing his research and had someone found that 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, would he have been arrested? If someone were to look on my machine at this time, they would find some very interesting things just based on research I am doing. Am I a sick puppy because I wanted to review injuries to little JBRs body? Am I because I was trying to figure out the extent of her sexual injuries and have thus looked up related information? See what I mean?

I'm not defending this guy, I'm just trying to figure out the truth about a number of things. Honestly, I would like to know the truth of that which they found on JMKs machine. One of his former lawyers, I believe, said that the children in the photos were dressed normally (i.e. "not dressed up.") I have read mixed info on those photos.

Lighthouselover, I want to know about the 2001 investigation too. I would like to know the truth of things...how can it be judged reasonably without knowing the facts, not just the allegations.

Done. I made a questions and comments thread for today. We have had one the last few days and it worked quite nicely.

But I thought we were trying to keep new threads down?
With Laci didn't we have a media only thread and then discussion on breaking news thread?

Yes, we had a media only thread. Do we have one on this forum? I never checked.

Rita needs to watch Fox, she is only just now reporting on the pictures of the Karr boys and family from 1996...still no JMK in any pictures.

CBS News correspondent Kelly Cobiella reports that sources said Karr knows too much about the Ramsey house to be lying, details the public couldn't know.

Freelance journalist Mike Sandrock met him, by chance, in Paris four years ago, told Cobiella that Karr knew more about the case than reporters at the hometown paper in Boulder.

This is very curious because I believe I heard a TV interview of Sandrock wherein he said he had not been interested in the JBR case, so didn't know much about it. How would he know if JMK knew more than the hometown paper if he didn't keep up to date on the subject?

That is what they said, "A large glass box is being brought into the courtroom and that JMK will be placed inside.

They must REALLY think this is the guy....if it turns out he is not, all this hubbub is laughable.

  • #838
I turned on MSNBC now, they are showing the van that's transporting him, I think.

  • #839
The box is 40 feet long with metal fencing at the top. At this point it remains unclear whether JMK will be the only person in the glass box. - MSNBC

Ok the circus his getting more laughable and bigger as we go on!

Can I just say that this female anchor on MSNBC is stupid? She has made 3-4 of the stupidest comments I have ever heard in my life in the last 5 minutes. The guy she's talking to at the courthouse commented on how busy things were there, and she says, "Well, from looking at the ceiling shot we have, it doesn't look busy." :waitasec: Then she asked the guy if it was highly unusual for people to waive their extraditions at the LA courthouse. Huh??? Before all that she asked the man, who had reported on the glass cage being brought in for Karr, if he was ready to be featured on Jon Stewart's show on Comedy Central tonight talking about the glass box.

I'm turning it back to Fox, Bill Hemmer is better to look at anyway.
