You can hear the tapes on the abc site. Wendy Hutchens said law enforcement did tell her to tape the phone calls, so she has 20 hours of it. ABC has 1 hour of it. They've played a few minutes of clips. She has the tapes because the police didn't believe they were either true or important. This was in 2001. I suppose they thought he was just a psycho kook, like most people do now.
Wendy Hutchins' alarm did apparently cause the search of his house that yielded the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 that caused his arrest and, indirectly one assumes, his flight from the country.

Somewhere in this jungle of posts JBean posted the website for the LA Jail and it had JMK listed as an inmate. If he were to be taken from the facility wouldn't his name be removed from the site????

In order to confuse reporters, who no doubt, think the same thing, Karr's name could be left on the web site tempprarily just to make it appear that he is still in L.A. custody, all while he is being moved to Boulder.

Maybe they can just delay updating it. I think they have to be able to account for all inmates on the system at all times. Earthquakes and schtuff like that.

I hold John Karr to be presumed innocent of murdering JonBenet. If the case goes to trial, I will want to hear his what his defense team says. It could be that his attorneys considers an affirmative defense.

No matter what the case is, I assess and weigh facts/evidence that is deemed to be relevant and reliable. I guage that same evidence against our proof beyond a reasonable doubt standard.

I can see the case rapidly building against Karr. I think the handwriting comparatives could be extremely compelling if not virtually conclusive. By the way, Nancy Grace also sees his handwriting as very inculpatory. Any time Nancy Grace and I feel the same way, it is Twi-Light Zone time. lol

From CNN's website:

Breaking News:A source involved in returning John Mark Karr to the United States says the man accused of killing JonBenet Ramsey made unsolicited statements to law enforcement officers while being taken to L.A. County Jail.

I just got this CNN News Alert in my e-mail:

"A source involved in returning John Mark Karr to the United States says the man accused of killing JonBenet Ramsey made unsolicited statements to law enforcement officers while being taken to L.A. County Jail."

I wonder what that's all about?

Somewhere on another thread this was reported along with the added detail that he and his whole family went to Boulder for the Ramsey's Christmas party.

So it's either the liquor talking or it's the liquor talking.

(Please don't ask me for a link to the thread, I'm already having trouble getting back in!)

Ramsey suspect agrees to go to Colorado

LOS ANGELES - John Mark Karr, wearing an orange jail jumpsuit and handcuffs chained around his waist, waived extradition to Colorado on Tuesday to face murder charges in the slaying of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey.

Karr spoke only briefly during a two-minute court hearing to confirm his decision. His blank expression changed only once when he slowly closed his eyes as the judge recited the charge of first-degree murder.

Although his public defender and a former defense attorney described Karr as eager to go, it was unclear when the 41-year-old teacher would be transferred. The Boulder County sheriff's deputies would not discuss travel plans and Los Angeles jail officials said they had not yet been contacted about a transfer.

Deputy Public Defender Haydeh Takasugi, who represented Karr in the hearing, said he was concerned about having to appear in court wearing jail attire rather than civilian clothes.

"It's going to taint any potential jury pool out there," Takasugi said. "He was upset at that."

Wudge, I hear you regarding the handwriting comparatives, but is it not true that for every expert that the prosecution would have testify that it matches, the defense would be able to produce one that says that it is not a match. In other words is an analysis of the handwriting a definitive?

Karr could get public defender in Colo.

DENVER - It's unclear whether John Mark Karr will have a legal "dream team" to defend himself against murder charges in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey. But he will probably receive a skilled attorney even if he cannot hire his own.

Unlike in many states, Colorado's public defender system is well funded and well respected for its work on complicated cases involving DNA evidence. Legal experts say any attorney considering an offer of representing Karr for free in hopes of cashing in on the publicity should think hard.

"This is a case that is going to eat up your life," veteran defense attorney Jeralyn Merritt said.

Karr, 41, was arrested last week in Thailand on a murder warrant. He waived extradition to Colorado on Tuesday during a hearing in Los Angeles and was expected to be sent to Boulder in a matter of days.

Karr has already made life more difficult for his legal team.

A high number of unique markers will certainly do it. The greater the number of strong matching similarities and unique markers, the better the probability that the writer of the comparatives is one and the same.

Candace DeLong(ex FBI) said she had from two sources that the $118,000 "wasn't even close" to the Ramsey bonus amount and was just one of the many mis-reportings and rumors which have surrounded this case for 10 years.

She went on with thoughts on Karr. That he's a "stone cold pedophile of pre- pubescent females"

Also says that if he's not the killer it's "something he thinks about"(killing) and IF he was seeking a sex change was he could have thought if he became a girl maybe he would no longer desire girls sexually.

Perhaps, if nothing else, this escapade will open up new insights to the potential of a predatory sadistic pedophile intruder being involved. I wouldn't want to be one of the LE guys researching chat rooms and conversing with people bent that way, but they are out there.
