I'm with you Narlacat--The more I listen to Pam Paugh, the nuttier she gets--"She's been told Karr knows many details unknown to the public"--first of all,WHO told her this, and second of all,it doesn't matter cuz its just wishful thinking on her part anyway

JMK was sending in anonymous emails from halfway around the world and had no intentions of being arrested. He thought he was safe, then started giving some statements when arrested.
I get the impression he was trying to convince just about anyone who would listen that he was involved in JonBenet's death. He began corresponding with Tracey when a mutual acquantaince decided they should exchange information about the case. The acquantance knew Karr's name and whereabouts. I think they were both in France at the time.

I am sure that Mr. Karr is going to soon discuss how he got in to the party. Right now we are following all these leads because of things he has said to people, which hitherto were ignored by authorities...even when people went to authorities. Criminals who love to talk...that is how they will hang themselves eventually. Let's recap, he bragged about his child love to the police informer Wendy Hutchens, to the landlord in Costa Rica, to Michael Tracey, anyone else? He doesn't just talk, he goes on and on and on.

Just now on Inside Edition someone in authority commented that even if the dna is not usable and cannot be matched, they have many other pieces of physical evidence that could prove he was there if they match. It will be proved one way or the other now that they have him to compare to their samples.
If these things that are coming out now, that we are reading, ever get in front of a jury he's done! They won't need any DNA; he'll be convicted on his own words.

I assumed since she is the spokesperson right now for the family, now that Patsy is gone, that the police give her the latest information, so it would be natural that they would tell her they have a case that is strong, if that is what they believe.

She looks just as dazed about the recent events as we are, as anyone is. This guy is a total monster....no one like him has been in the news like this ever.

That's the damger of this; they could convict an innoocent person, simply through his own faulty admission. Hoping that Boulder has conclusive evidence, and don't convict JMK on his word, otherwise we will all forever wonder "who really killed Jon Benet??"

Yes there was another journalist he met in Europe who was from Boulder and Karr began questioning this man about everything in the Ramsey case. I can't remember his name offhand though, but saw him being interviewed.

Sandrock, Michael? Sandrock.

In the summer of 2002, Michael Sandrock, a 48-year-old newspaper columnist and runner, claims he casually met John Karr outside a bookshop in Paris. They struck up the type of conversation that American travelers in Europe typically do, introducing themselves in generalities.

Sandrock, a sportswriter en route to cover a race it Switzerland, introduced himself as a journalist with the Daily Camera, a local newspaper in Boulder. Karr introduced himself as "John" — no last name — and said he was a writer from Amsterdam. During the next few days, the two would discuss in detail the mysterious death of six-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.

I really wish the ex-wife #1 would stop with the media interviews also. Saw her tonight describing how horribly controlling JMK was. And everyone else coming out of the woodwork contaminating the potential jury pool. Fortunately there was someone on either CNN or FNC tonight who said that the people of Boulder County often don't pay attention to a lot of the news!

Who is John Mark Karr?

ATLANTA — His public confession was a stunning admission to an unforgettable crime. John Mark Karr, held in the murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, finds himself in the international spotlight.

The emerging portrait of the 41-year-old former Atlantan reveals a life of broken marriages, troubled employment and a 2001 conviction for possessing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Karr — a man with a low-key demeanor, slight physique and neat haircut — failed in two marriages, one to a 14-year-old, the other to a 16-year-old. One of his teaching jobs lasted about 15 days. He had just started a teaching second-graders in Thailand when he was arrested Wednesday.

Karr was fascinated by tiny beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.

His father told the Denver Post that the interest in JonBenet began with a college paper and grew into a desire to write a book. When Karr was apprehended, he looked into the television cameras, said he loved JonBenet — and then took responsibility for her death.

The unusual confession has raised the question whether he is a killer or an emotionally unstable man confessing to a murder he did not commit.

A headline in the Rocky Mountain News online edition read, "Expert: 'Do we have a wack-job or a murderer?' "

John Mark's brother, Nate Karr, painted a different picture to Fox-TV's Greta Van Susteren. He described his brother as a loving sibling who plays musical instruments and made the college dean's list.

The specific time Karr lived in metro Atlanta is unclear. Nate Karr says his brother grew up in Conyers before going to live with their grandparents in Alabama about age 12. As an adult, John Mark Karr lived off and on in Atlanta, visited family here on holidays and was married in Gwinnett County.

Karr graduated from high school in Hamilton, Ala, and in 1984, he married local girl Quientana Shotts, who was 14 at the time. Karr was 19.

At her home on Thursday, she described her ex-husband as "different" and "possessive."

Karr drove a Jaguar and a Fiat and DeLorean while he lived in Hamilton, which generated a lot of rumors about his wealth and how he got it, Jackson said.

Lin Wood is an attorney from Atlanta who represented the victim in the civil case against Kobe Bryant. Pamela Mackey has risen to partner in the Colorado firm she was with when she represented Kobe Bryant, and as far as I can tell, has never had a capital case.

OK...so Lin Wood did not work for the firm ( I wasn't sure)- thanks for setting me straight on that part.:) However, it does appear that Pamela's firm did represent John & Patsy (initially, I guess) when they were under suspicion:

http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/07/19/kobe.bryant/index.html

"Bryant's attorney, Pamela Mackey, who organized the press conference, works for the Denver law firm that represented John and Patsy Ramsey while they were under suspicion in the death of their daughter Jon Bonet."

So.... I think there would still be a conflict.

When did Pam Paugh say she spoke to JBR after she died?? Can I find that information on A Candy Rose?

  • #1,657
Maybe MrsMush, you could try there.
She's come out with all sorts of crazy things.
Even as recently as Patsy's death...'Patsy has her victory now'.
It's not the only time she has used words out of the ransom note either.

In November of that year, a judge issued a restraining order for Karr to stay at least 100 yards away from his ex-wife and children — ages 8, 9 and 10 at the time — for three years, the AP said.

In December 2001, a warrant was issued for his arrest after he violated the terms of his supervised release

You are so right about this, Buzz. This has been one of my fears since this whole JMK fiasco started.

I wasn't joking. Maybe I read more of the stuff than you have yet. It'll be splashed on the front pages soon enough.
