Cold Case: Detectives Need Help Solving Murder of Pregnant Woman

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. —
It's a cold case detectives need your help solving: The murder of 21-year-old Stevencia Barlatier.

Barlatier was living in Orlando when she was last seen alive on November 25, 2017. Her body was later found more than 50 miles away, in a remote wooded area in eastern Hernando County.

A grandmother accused of killing a woman on Fort Myers Beach was in court Tuesday. Lois Riess withdrew her previous plea of not guilty to enter a guilty plea, receiving a sentence of life in prison.

The murder left investigators chasing Riess across the country after she killed Pamela Hutchinson, 59, on Fort Myers Beach to steal her identity.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Braxton Williams, 6, and his 5-year-old sister, Bri’ya, were a little dehydrated and had a couple of bumps and bruises, but appeared to be in good health and were very talkative, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said. The children’s mother told News4Jax anchor Joy Purdy by phone that the boy and the girl were doing great. She thanked Jesus and the community for helping find her children.

TBI identifies killer in nearly 35-year-old Campbell County cold case murder

State authorities have identified the killer in a nearly 35-year-old unsolved Campbell County homicide long-associated with the so-called Redhead Murders.

Jerry Leon Johns, a truck driver first considered as a suspect in the string of killings during the mid-1980s, is believed to be responsible for the death of Tina Marie McKenney Farmer, an Indiana woman whose remains were discovered off Interstate 75 near Jellico on New Years Day 1985, authorities announced Thursday.

Body found inside Houston-area home believed to be missing Austin mom: Sources

“HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A body found inside a northwest Harris County home is believed to be that of missing Austin mother Heidi Broussard, according to sources. An autopsy will likely be performed Friday.

At least one person is in custody.

A 1-month-old girl was found alive inside the same house on Bo Jack Drive near Jersey Village, where officers and agents from the Texas Rangers, Department of Public Safety, FBI and the Austin Police Department searched for hours overnight.”
