CNN is reporting that the prisoners he has been housed with are saying that he told them his story isn't true.
I saw the released from jail guy saying the story, as reported, wasn't true--at least that is the message I got from what he said. It could have been John complaining about the drugged part, and the other things, Suwat said.

Isnt it Ironic is name is John and his mom's is Patricia.... As much as I hate to admit it, he probably is lying. I mean he was obsessed with Polly Klass's murder, maybe he has some fixation with wanting the attention like Richard Allen Davis got when he was caught, I dont know. Its sick to me and I say we hang them all that hurt children!!!
It is nauseating to think what he's put everyone through - and how could the police have been so sloppy (IMO) ?
Someone mentioned that it's odd no kids have come forward to accuse him from his years here.
I'm beginning to think he never acted out here except for marrying the underaged wives -- maybe later in Thailand he paid for it -- but it looks like it's all fantasy...

Oh man, I missed that! I'm watching FOX. I don't know if I believe that though to be honest, why would he have a press conference and say he was there when she died, and then want to have ANOTHER press conference to tell reporters that he never said he drugged her, only to turn around and tell fellow inmates that his story wasn't true? UGH! I hate this.
They were transporting some prisoners and interviewing them. One guy said he told him his whole story wasn't true.
all i can say is oy vey!

Mark Klass called him something I can't remember his exact words so forgive me, but he called him something like, a pedophile dead girl groupie.
Exactly, that is what it seems. I do think he is definatly a danger but I just dont know if he killed JBR, although I would love to know beyond a shadow of a doubt who did it 100%!!!!

Bean, do you still think he will go to Boulder if this is substantiated or will they serve him with the outstanding warrant in Ca?

You're so good I thought you just must know the answer? BaHaaaaaa Haa Haa Haa :D

Actually I am so enjoying reading all these fascinating posts by some of the old timer JB posters and of course our regulars too.

I see Bluecrab even showed up today!

Scandi
Boulder for sure Scandi, CA has put the CP charges on hold, deferring to CO.

Sonoma Co. Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Charges Against Karr On Hold

(AP) SANTA ROSA California authorities say child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges pending against John Mark Karr in Sonoma County will wait while Colorado prosecutors pursue their case.

Karr could face murder charges in the 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey in Boulder, Colorado. He's being extradited from Thailand this weekend.

Karr has been a fugitive from Sonoma County since 2001, when he failed to appear for a court hearing after being charged with five misdemeanor counts of possessing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Sonoma County prosecutor Stephan Passalacqua says he has "no intention to continue on the misdemeanor charge at this time. The priority is the homicide case."

He says prosecutors will revisit the case if needed.

I'll be dumbfounded if this guy turns out to be the killer.

. That's why he wanted to have the press conference to clear it up.

I had mentioned that 200 people had confessed to the kidnapping murder of the Lindbergh baby.

The latest factoid:

600 people confessed to the famous "Black Dahlia" murder.

So, in high profile cases, false confessions aren't unusual.

Someone called into one of our radio stations and confessed to losing the NASA tapes.

 That gave me a good chuckle. BTW, have they found them yet?

I'm very curious how many false confessions have been in this case. I just find it so odd that after 10 years he decides to falsely confess (if he didn't do it that is)

So then it makes me wonder if a private handwriting analyst just compared Karr's handwriting to the ransom note and it was a match, what are the odds other people's handwriting also matching that in the ransom note.

Scandi

If one is a private handwriting analyst who says the writing is not a match, what are the chances of getting on TV?

Hi Mrs Mush,

I've read that he has tried to confess a couple of times in the last 5 years but it was never taken seriously. One was the lady in California we have a thread about. She taped him offering a confession for the police.

Scandi, I just saw on Fox News I think, a reporter who ran into him in Paris (this reporter got him in touch with Michael Tracey) Anyway, he said that the guy really creeped him out when he started talking about the case. This reporter did not say if he confessed or not. Just that he knew way too much information about the case.

Without verification of Karr's confession, or a DNA match, SBTC appears to be the best evidence they have at this moment. What are the odds of that being used in a yearbook, and on the ransom note.

Not very good, for a person's handwriting is individually unique: height, pressure, slant, depth, spacing, letter forming, letter start, letter finish, dotted i's crossed t's etc., etc.. And each person's handwritning will show micro "signature characteristics" as well when examined under a magnifying glass.

If the "expert" Fox referenced truly is an expert and was able to match the ransom note to Karr's handwriting from the paltry specimens shown on the web, you have to think more experts will likely follow.
