Comparing this to the 1979 AA191 crash, where the bolts in the pylon failed and engine dropped off on the runway.
This engine sure appears mangled.
However, these are media images and who knows what they are able to scrape up from an accident scene at a distance.
The 1979 pic is poor quality, but I see the casing and pylon on the runway.
But UPS engine looks like maybe internal engine issues and not just an engine "falling" off? (Maybe a fire?)
There is also an image from 1979 of one of the engines at the crash site. It was one of the things that was intact.

ETA:
Found a few more images of the 1979 engine. It pretty much looks intact.

Footage shows UPS flight without engine moments before crash
Rasim Hadžić had just left the UPS yard and was driving down the road when his dashcam caught the moment Flight 2976 crashed into several buildings and lit into a gigantic fireball.
