Rescue crews in the UK have deployed drones and search dogs to help locate a Westchester County hiker who went missing in the Scottish Highlands last week, authorities said.
Brian McGillicuddy, 64, of Harrison, was hiking on rugged terrain near Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest peak, when he disappeared around 4 a.m. on Thursday, according to a Facebook post by the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team, one of several crews involved in the search.

"We're hoping for a miracle. We know if anyone could make it out alive, it is Brian."
The family of a US climber who has gone missing on Ben Nevis are holding on to hope that he will survive.
Brian McGillicuddy, 64, from Harrison in New York disappeared on Thursday, February 19, during a solo hike on Scotland’s highest peak.
The veteran mountaineer had travelled to Scotland for a two-week climbing trip following his retirement on January 30 and has previously summited Ben Nevis. Tragically, the trip was meant to be a celebration of his new chapter in life, with a planned return home on February 23, but he has now been missing for almost a week.
Brian’s sister-in-law Kirsten told the Record: "He's got himself out of some tricky situations in his time.
"He is a legend within the climbing community and has made friends all over, including Scotland and the USA. He's a very experienced ice-climber and he's been doing this since he was just a child.
"He even takes paraplegic climbers on his back, so they really did break the mould when they made Brian. We know he'd be out there searching if it was another climber missing.
"We just hope that he's hunkering down in a cave and he'll be able to tell us about his ordeal.
"He's always off climbing, it's his passion. So we're trying to keep things positive but understand there is a difficult reality down to the conditions."
