Also, interiors can change between model years.
That's also very true. The placement of the dome light and the red/blue readout on the radio seem to be key since most vehicles that Leila listed have no light there and have green LED.

THANK YOU!!!!!! At least that narrows it down a little bit. I think I might go used truck/suv shopping.

You're welcome! :) The list I gave is for 2008 models, so it's very possible that with year-to-year model changes, an earlier model might fit the description.

I'm surprised the police haven't researched this with local car dealerships, to try to figure out make, model, and year. There's one out there that fits the description of the truck the police are looking for.

How drunk do you have to be to be kicked out of that place?

Hey! That thar place is classy-like! Them girls is even on the radio sometimes talking about the Monday night football specials. Now if we were talking the Spice House...

Thanks Leila for all your hard work! None of these seem to fit the exact description, but I'm wondering what Toyota has since it was mentioned here about a Tundra.

Toyota was the one brand I couldn't get to load - they had some sort of player that had to be downloaded to view their interior/exterior pictures. I think it was a flash player, but I've already got the most recent update of flash, so I didn't want to download something I didn't know anything about.

I'm just hoping he's found very soon. There's an AP article out now saying how scared everyone is on campus and buying everything for self-protection. :(

This is driving me crazy! I have searched on all of the Brianna threads, and while posters mention the perp's vehicle having a dome light up near the windshield, no one has speculated on what make the truck/suv might be - or maybe the search function wasn't working correctly.

I did find one post where someone said Hummers have lights like that, and went on to say that other vehicles do too, but didn't say which makes. I live in Reno, and ever since Brianna was abducted and the description released I check every truck/suv I see - I have yet to see one with a forward dome light.

There must be a car/truck freak somewhere on this site who can say something like, "Chevys have lights like that." I have been googling my brains out looking at auto parts, but I'm not getting anywhere. Is it something more common on older vehicles?
>
Reading this post, I realized that LE/retired LE vehicles have a huge dome light up front. Have you ever been in a crwon vic taxi that is a retired cruiser? You can always tell by the dome light! Perhaps LE is thinking along these lines already? However, a pickup is not a typical LE vehicle, but an SUV is.

Just like you think it's cute to hear about the "traffic" in reno, I think it's cute to hear 10's and 20's described as "cold" and 1 or 2 feet of snow as "deep"!:)

HW, Adnoid, your sarcasm isn't wasted on me! Love it!

(NOTE: Not trying to be ghoulish here, OK, just discussing. PLEASE nobody take offense!)

Think for a minute how tough it would be to keep a live person for an extended period of time....

I completely agree. Also, even though the perp is "developing" - from fondle to rape to murder - I don't think he has many details worked out. I think it was more of a "go hunting/dump body" kind of thing.

About the baby shoe...I'm thinking Ted Bundy here...maybe he has a wife/girlfriend with a baby who works nights at one of the casinos (???) - maybe he's supposed to be watching the baby while she works. He could leave when the kid is asleep and not have to account for his whereabouts. It could even be her vehicle.

When Laci Peterson was killed by her no-good lowlife scum-sucking "husband" Scott and her body washed up on the shore in the San Francisco Bay, there was one of his supporters (mercifully she never posted here) who claimed that Laci was actually kidnapped by Scott's mistress and kept captive for a month or so. I went around with this person working out how many people would have had to be involved to carry this out without any outward sign to the world of what was going on. I think we worked out (before she gave up talking to me) 6 or 7 people would have had to be involved so that everyone could keep up their daily schedule and appearance, while still providing at least 1 person to watch the captive at all times. It doesn't happen.
LOL ~ I know it doesn't make sense! :) I just heard some speculation on cable news that she could've been kept alive for 2 wks. or moved to where she was found about a week ago. Being that the Dec. victim was rendered unconscious (but survived) I think it's very likely that he strangled Brianna that early morning of her abduction.

It's pretty tough to concentrate on the games there. I mean, that's what my friends tell me...

What, no Super Bowl party at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch? No wait...that waaaay too far to drive.

I don't claim Mack. He's worthless.

I see he has a new girlfriend. She sits there and listens to the guy describe in detail how he stabbed his wife through the neck - and then she's on all the local new sites working hard to get the message out that he should be free - to be with her. It's just like OJ's g/f who's in the hospital now. Nobody deserves to be assaulted, but come on ladies, look at the history.
Oh I know ~ where on earth did Mack hook up with that woman? He even has her doing all his legal papers! I've actually wondered if his family is paying her for her help in his "cause" since I can't imagine anyone being that stupid! :)

Actually, I work in Carson City ("you mean you COMMUTE 25 minutes EACH WAY?! EVERY DAY?!?!") and that's about 5 minutes from my office. Not that I know anything about it. And it's spelled "Midnite". And they charge a lot for beer.

LOL! I first wrote "Midnite" but googled it and got "Moonlite" - I guess you would know better - cough - I mean from what your friends told you...

Oh, I know it happens. It's just really uncommon, and to do it by yourself requires a lot of advanced planning.

I agree, and in this case it would be highly unlikely.

I've thought about looking for work in Carson, but that stretch of Washoe Valley that closes due to wind all the time seems like it would be a problem. I wish there was a Reno to Carson train.

I'm glad that the students are scared. In this case, being scared might make them think more about their personal safety. Hopefully by exercising caution - locking their apartment doors, locking their car doors, and only walking in groups from place to place will prevent another young woman from being kidnapped, raped, or killed.

Some years ago, a good friend of ours, a sheriff deputy with the Sacramento Sheriffs Dept., was making the rounds of college campuses teaching safety and self-protection. Our daughter attended one of his lectures and got a lot of good tips on self-protection. To this day, her car is locked up tight whenever she goes anywhere. If I'm a passenger, I have to ask her to unlock the passenger window for me.

Washoe Valley Wind Sock: An anvil on a chain.

No kidding! When I first moved up here, and didn't know my way around, I almost bought a house up Mt. Rose hwy. I'm really glad it didn't work out.

Darren Mack's new girlfriend, Alecia Biddison, is trying desperately to get legislation to have Nevada judges appointed rather than elected. I think this is a dangerous direction to go in. Right now, judges are elected by the people. To have some sort of commission that appoints judges, takes away the right of the citizens to vote and have a measure of control.

I agree with you and it's really sad though that it takes a series of violent assaults and a murder to make people wake up to the dangers around them. Locking doors, for example, is something that should've been done long ago and in this case Brianna might be alive today. It's just a fact that criminals are out there no matter where you live and everyone needs to be careful.

Another thought since the Dec. victim was unconscious but later dropped back off at her home, that maybe when rendering Brianna unconscious he went too far and she died? He may be a serial rapist who has escalated to murder, but not intentionally? Or I may be wrong, but it was just something that came to mind following along what had happened to the previous victim.
