New video released on AMW:

http://www.amw.com/fugitives/case.cfm?id=53281They made a mistake either on their website or in the video. The console described on the site opened towards the front and in the video it states it opened towards the back.

We can only hope that their system in Las Vegas isn't as backed up as it is in Reno. Chances are it is and it has not made the database yet. Getting LE to run it as a possible match to Bri's murder would place it ahead and have it done much faster, but only if Reno requests it...which I very much doubt they will.
I just hope that someone in LE runs a comparison, assuming that DNA was found at Mariela's murder. If for nothing else than to exclude this possibility that the same perp is involved.

I agree that the victim description and time of day match up, and it's very possible he could be in Las Vegas (some serial killers have been known to travel, such as the Night Stalker) but if he'd left his DNA, I would think by now LE would know it's the same killer since the DNA would now be in a state database.

The question is, when and if LE would release that info. If nobody has come forward with info in Mariela's case, and LE doesn't feel that releasing info about a connection would gain more tips or leads, they may keep it quiet. But again, this is just one theory of many. I do think both the ex and current bf are likely suspects in Mariela's case.

I only wish that Bri had decided to go home after going out. :(
I know. :( It just seems like this case is going nowhere. The two girls who were killed this week, one at Auburn (suspect in custody) and the other one closer to home for me here in NC (suspect seen at ATM and photo released) are almost resolved, yet this guy has assaulted at least 2 victims and killed Brianna, LE has his DNA, yet no clue who he is.

It usually is someone the victim knows or has had contact with. I thought of that too about Brianna and why she was the only one of the 3 known victims so far that was killed, that she could identify him?

Excellent point. Maybe Bri was the only one who could positively identify him and he knew it. The others said they never got a clear look at him.

In both of the coed murders in AL and NC, they did have photos of the perps. Either this guy knew where cams were so he avoided detection or they didn't get to the cameras quick enough before they were erased.

With the second vic in Dec he told her not to look at his face or he would have to kill her. That means that if Brianna fought back in anyway she would have been able to ID him..which is why I think he killed her.

Yes, and that's all it would take to turn the abduction and assault into murder.

If I commited a crime, left my DNA, how would they catch me???
Since I have never commited a crime, my DNA would not be on FILE anywhere, so what good would it do if they had my DNA?

I guess I am missing the point, can you explain?

The only place this perp would've been photographed would be at the Sands ~ if he was there and followed Brianna back to the house, so I do realize they are entirely different circumstances but frustrating nonetheless that Brianna's murder doesn't seem anywhere near being solved yet.

I thought she was abducted at 4:30AM out of a private residence..
What cameras are you talking about being erased?

  • #253
I understood her perfectly. It means that he has committed 3 horrific crimes including a murder over a period of months, left his DNA behind (meaning he was not very careful), and yet the other crimes on coeds in other parts of the country have only taken a little over 3 days to get a suspect into custody and a good lead on the other one when RPD so far has jacksquat.

It was only a comparison how quickly some cases can be solved and how long it takes for others, like this one because LE doesn't have a clue who the perp is.

In the November attack, he had a box of condoms which LE claims hit the stores in Oct. or Nov...there could have been photos of him making the purchase the very night of her assault, but since they did not check immediately...the cameras were probably already erased over.

Did they check various cameras in the area of the apartment where Bri went missing within the time frame before those cameras were rerun? He could have purchased gasoline or condoms that night as well.

Jacksquat grows wild here in the high desert.((just kidding,so don't blow a gasket!!))

It helps if you have actual photos of the perps..

LOL OK that was funny!

Yes, it certainly DOES help if you have actual photos of the perp!!

We actually do not know if they have no clue, they could have suspects, we do not know- they could have someone they are watching and can't bring in for unknown reasons, how would we know?

How long again did it take the catch the BTK killer?
Ted Bundy??
Green River Killer?
And they murdered a lot more than one.

If they have a suspect or a POI and they are not asking for help to find that 🤬🤬🤬 or find out more information from people to make that arrest...they should turn the case over to an LE agency who knows what to do! They don't have the luxury of time on their side before he possibly strikes again.

Yes, it took a long time but it was also quite a while ago. Technology is so much greater now. If they have a suspect or a poi and have a pic they should bring it to the public. It would make their own job so much easier.

I don't think they have this though. I think the perp is an unknown quality in the area and they don't know who they are dealing with. I believe it is a perp who has escalated and will continue, maybe with a cooling off period. They don't stop until caught so there will be another crime. IMO.
