Bridge collapses in Washington state leaving cars filled with passengers in the river

Sorry but that made me :floorlaugh:... Hazard lights are probably useless now. Lol

Yeah...but don't you know that the first thing his grandmomma's gonna ask him is, "Well...did you use your flashers?!"

2 people enroute to the hospital according to the hospital spokesperson.

Dude waiting at the hospital worried it's his daughter and her mother.

Doesn't he know what they drive?

Talking about how dangerous it is for divers. It is dark, and the divers could get snagged on the twisted metal under the water.

:floorlaugh: yes!

A semi truck hit the bridge???
So did a road go under the bridge? I'm confused.

They believe everyone who fell in the water is okay.

Okay, so they are "piecing things together" by looking at the semi and the road.
Am I watching HLN??

Okay... so they think that the semi was "too far to one side" or the other and hit the metal...
you know, the "cage" part over the bridge.
THAT is what made the bridge collapse.
Is this for real? Seriously? That would make a bridge collapse?

(It's a miracle that guy they covered with a blanket isn't dead.
Who knew that blanket didn't mean dead!
It was a THERMAL blanket. That is what *I* said.)

Dude... that 3rd vehicle was a TRAILER like I SAID it was.
(I better be getting lots of credit for these, I pegged that one too.)

2 in the truck, fine.
1 in the car, also fine.

No dead people and no 3rd vehicle.

ATROCIOUS reporting on KIRO 7's part. Absolutely ATROCIOUS.

Okay... these ones are also saying that the semi hit the beams that go OVER the roadway.
Then the beams fell down and the road collapsed. (That seems like a bad construction job to me.)

They also say there might be a 4th person in need of rescue.
They however, are also saying that 3rd vehicle is a truck. (It's not. I promise.)

2 of the 3 patients were taken to Skagit Valley hospital, both are stable and being treated in the ER.
A man and a woman. Their family is at the hospital with them.
3rd patient was taken to United General, by ground. Also reportedly stable.

Okay, so the oversized truck was too tall for the bridge?

Governor says there was only 3 people rescued and there is no other person missing.

I remember seeing a news program (Dateline? 20/20) report a few months ago on the bad state of bridges in the US - basically saying any number could just collapse. Very few, a handful, were found to be OK and I remember one of those was a bridge in and out of DC (Wilson maybe). I don't understand why nothing is being done. Thank God nobody died in this case.

The semi hit the beams... went on a 30 degree angle, came back down and the beams started falling.
PLEASE tell me that the people who witnessed this called LE?
(Apparently the semi driver didn't realize there was a problem.)

Press conference:

Semi truck in right lane, the size of the load appeared to create a problem.
Causing him to strike the bridge. Talking to truck driver, inspecting the truck.

Press conference:

We were in the water within a few minutes.
Immediately got the people off of cars we could see.
Then assessed the situation to ensure there was no one else.
Rumors said that there was someone else, but we do not believe there is.
We have discontinued our search unless someone calls and reports a loved one missing.

Dude that was in the truck being interviewed.
Said that they were behind the wide load semi.
They backed off to allow him to move over, because they realized that he wasn't going to clear it.

A 2nd semi came up next to the wide load, that prevented the wide load semi from moving over.
(Where is that semi, did it make it off the bridge? And take off or do they have it?)
The wide load hit the bridge... large boom and big puff of dust.

This guy was behind him and they went off the bridge.
Said they hit the water, then the asphalt. He has whiplash.
He had a dislocated shoulder that he put back into place to climb out.
His wife was unconscious and then come to and was hysterical.

He talked to the dude in the orange car and he said he was okay.

Then... the feed went away.
