i wonder if a criminal organisation would really have such a seemingly personal vendetta against someone who investigated financial crimes ten years ago. i think maybe some journalists came across information about his former job and thought it would be an interesting angle, but i don’t really think it will have much to do with it. jmoo.
Agreed. I don't think the mob would wait 10 years to get revenge.

Prosecutors have started examining days of footage in a radius of at least five-miles

How many children between them did this couple have?

2 of Dawn
2 of Andrew

"Callum and his sister Amanda Kerr were 'grieving the loss of their mother'
while Andrew’s kids Tom and Ella Searle
were 'mourning the loss of their father'."

"At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle.''

The man was found hanged and GAGGED.
Would a person kill oneself putting a gag in one's mouth?

- What about an open garage door?
- And man's intense argument with someone on the phone?
- Would a person intending suicide next day buy lottery tickets?

JMO
the phone history will show whom he was in contact with....

From the article “But she said that Mr Searle had been agitated on the day before his death because someone had apparently opened the door of his garage without him knowing.

“He had seen that the door of his garage was open, although he was sure he had closed it.

“He was looking for who opened his garage. He didn’t find who did it. We don’t know if it’s connected, maybe it was him who left it open…”

“The neighbour, who did not wish to be identified, said: “I saw them the day before they were found, they were walking the dogs and Andrew was on the phone.

“He was very agitated and he was arguing violently in English. He just waved at me and then carried on.”
were their hunting dogs so friendly that they would not bark or alert to an intruder? And, were he neighbors so distant that dogs barking would not be noticed?

The Searles had just married in 2023 but had been together for at least 10 years before that, living in France. Probably together even longer as I wouldn't expect they would move to France together right after meeting one another.

"All the unanswered questions
after British couple
was found murdered 'by gangsters' in France -
as father of dead man says
there have been 'very few' explanations."

"CCTV footage shows British man
buying chocolates and lottery tickets
just hours before dying violently in his rural French home alongside his wife -
as detectives reveal new lead on 'killer'.

View attachment 563490

Appearing happy and relaxed
he is seen buying a chocolate bar and two 3 Euro Lottery tickets
before thanking the shopkeeper and walking away to his car outside where wife Dawn was waiting.

Around his neck is a tracking device used to keep an eye on the couple's two hunting dogs
and which were found at the scene and taken away for DNA testing by police
following what has been described as their 'violent deaths'."

This sounds like the dogs were killed as well. (?)

Video of the crime scene should shed some light on what went down.

Varied reports regarding pj's versus none..

''Ms Searle was seen by a neighbour, according to La Depeche and Midi Libre. La Depeche also reports she was naked, with jewellery found scattered nearby.''

''Postmortems are expected to take place on Monday.''

Occam’s razor strikes deep - it’s most likely a murder-suicide sadly; ignore all the froth of hitmen etc - could be that he killed his wife after a violent argument then hanged himself.
No bullets, no knives, no forced entry

There was no report of dogs killed as well.
I hope not.
It was reported that his hunting dogs were taken for DNA testing. I didn’t read the article closely, but it was before I saw the details about how they were found and so from a scan read I felt the intimation was the dogs might have attacked. Clearly not the case.

Anyway, dogs seem to have survived.

I read it that the tracking devices not the dogs were taken for DNA testing
