IdahoMom....I think she is a great dancer, but singer....no. Sadly she is like most pop tarts these days. Can dance, looks good in little or nothing and could do well at a Karaoke bar, but the really talanted people for the most part go unnoticed because they don't have the whole 'package' or don't want to sell out.

That is the one thing I will give her credit for. She can dance and b/c of that I hear she puts on a good show. IMO she would never had made in on AI with that voice. :truce:

Nope. I just don't like her or Jessica Simpsons, Beyonce or any of that group of gals that are so big on the radio these days. And don't get me started on Boy Bands.

Your post made me laugh out loud! I've seen them all. :waitasec: :banghead:

My daughter went through a faze a few years back when they were all popular. Britney did put on a great show as far as the dancing, etc., but the girl can't sing. Christina, on the other hand, can't dance to save her life but SHE can sing! She's got an incredible voice. Jessica is off on both - can't sing or dance. Just didn't care for her. Not much stage presence. Beyonce we saw with Destiny's Child. They were ok... they can sing, but not so hot on the dancing part. She looked like she was loosing her balance constantly. Of course, she had on 5 inch heels.

Now, for boy bands. We saw Backstreet Boys twice - loved both shows. Very entertaining - could sing and dance. N'Sync - same. 98 Degrees - not so much.

Let's see... who else have we seen. :waitasec: Oh... Ricky Martin - puts on an AWESOME show. He can definitely shake his bon bon.

And then there's Keith... yep, the Urban. INCREDIBLE shows! That man could stand in front of me and play guitar forever. He is absolutely amazing!

Ok, I'm done. :D

Brit is an awesome performer, but not a very good singer IMO.

Apparantly she is as good at killing herself as she is at singing. :p I know, I know low blow. But hey, she puts herself out there, if she can't take the heat.....
I was going to say that lol, but stopped myself..

This is true.

Is the Boston Herald a tabloid? Because I provided a link from them to the exact same story. I was under the impression they were a reputable newspaper...

Hard to believe isn't it.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday, was having trouble thinking, more on the ball today :D

I'd agree with you if she had actually carved 666 into her forehead instead of using a harmless felt-tip pen.

To me it seems very orchestrated: knickerless partying with Paris, leaked stories about lesbian group orgies, the umbrella attack, shaving off her hair (above and below), the stunt at the hotel pool, the short-lived stints at the rehab clinic, the rumoured bed spread "suicide attempt". It's getting to be a little bit ridiculous and the media is playing right into her hands. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a sextape in the offing.

Ultimately, she's simply setting herself up for an inevitable comeback and the lower she stoops now, the greater the eventual sales.
Yeah that's it pretty much, wow! what a comeback!!

Britney, Christina, Jessica, Ashley, Jojo, et al., don't they all just lip-sync on stage? It's all about choreography and spectacle with these pop performers.

Brit, Christina and Jessica definitely did not lipsync when we saw them. However, Brit and Jessica should have. :silenced: :D Christina has an amazingly powerful voice. She really was incredible. Had she just sung instead of worrying about trying to dance, the show would have been much better. ;)

This is the first line of article in the Boston Herald:

"If you believe the British tabloids - and why would you? - even a dose of retail therapy last week couldn’t shake Britney Spears’ demons so she tried to kill herself."

It may be that this is one of those treatment stories that has a small kernel of truth - crazy stuff is pretty common in rehab. Maybe she made some off the cuff comment in a group session - less than a week off dope and all strung out - about how she felt like the antiChrist and wished she were hanging from the rafters and dead and then it morphed into this story.

Even though most of you think her singing isnt up to scratch but puts on a good show, she obviously has enough followers and fans, I wouldnt mind the money and assets she has, so she must have something going for her, I personally am not a Britney fan but I dont think she deserves all the attention she is getting from the press in her time of need.

I have a question ......

You would think that a place like Promises would have a very strict confidentiality policy with their staff. This place caters to high-profile people & celebrities - so they are equipped & used to dealing with media attention on their patients........ so I find it hard to believe that these leaks are coming from any staff inside Promises.

Maybe another patient?? But not about her diagnosis - like the PPD. Now, really.....how in the world would that get leaked? Any kind of diagnosis, treatment plan, etc. is highly confidential - even for the average person. I realize there are staff who have access to Britney's charts - but you would also think that because of her high-profile nature that the staff would be extra careful with her medical charts/info. So, I guess my point is - I'm not sure if I believe this stuff coming out.

I just remember when I was in rehab - they ran a very tight ship. And, Promises - a million dollar rehab place & used to celebrity patients - seems to me that one of their top priorities would be extreme confidentiality.

What do you think? Do you really think this stuff coming out could be true? I don't.

Anyway, I know from first-hand experience how hard rehab is - and especially being away from your family. My son was about one & a half when I went in & I honestly thought my heart was going to rip right out of my chest. I missed him so much - and the guilt was just terrible!! And I wasn't even out partying like Britney! I inadvertently became addicted to narcotic pain killers after a tough illness. So I would imagine Britney's dealing with a lot of guilt about her parenting (or lack thereof). Not to mention the stuff she must deal with in terms of her fame, etc. I'm sure she's got a whole bag of stuff to deal with.

She's so young too. When I went in, I was a mature 31 year old. Britney's a very immature 25 year old with very little education behind her. I hope she can learn & get through this. Because it is very tough. And for a long time she's been surrounded by people who have said "yes, yes, yes". She's really gotten everything she's wanted. And a big part of recovery is denying yourself. I think Britney's going to have a very tough go of this - just my opinion. But I do wish her the best & wish I could talk to her. I think she needs some normal, loving people in her life. And frankly, I'm not real thrilled with how her parents have handled things over the years - allowing their 16/17 year old underage daughter to pose in skimpy/sexy clothing all over the place & basically become a teenage sex symbol for boys & grown men everywhere. I personally believe that that has played at least one part in the damage she is now suffering.
