What is the likelihood that the person Brooke was originally planning to meet was a "client" of the sex ring... someone other than her uncle but someone he had arranged for her to meet?

Possible but I think the ring was tighter woven. I am doubting that there ever was a meeting planned and that the hospital visitation and the myspace interaction were all ruses given by the uncle to deflect from the real goings on.

Awww, I know how you feel, Amom. Welcome to WS...this is what we do and it never gets easier. Some days are just really a lot worse than others around here. Today was particularly disheartening.

I'm thinking that a 9 year old would believe the president, sex training, slit throat perverted vomit.....but, at some point, it probably changes to "Your family will be killed" type threats. A 12-13-14 year old would know the first lie was a lie, I think.

I wonder if the latest victim is a step daughter?

Actually, I don't think that is out of the range of possibilities. He could have set her up to be kidnapped by someone else as payment to/from him or for other reasons. Perhaps she was going to tell and this was his solution to keep her quiet.

The fact the other sexual abuse seemed to stop weeks ago tells me that the girl was no longer making them money or had otherwise become a problem. Who knows who they were indebted to?

I spent most of my years working in the sex offender units in both facilities I worked at.
They are separated.
One of the facilities I worked at has a building seperate from the main building where everyone else is housed. That place used to have a "petermeter" that was hooked to te offenders to find their level of excitement. I cannot get into the graphics here.

No kidding. My daughter is 14 as well. She's never been to anyone's house, no matter how good a friend, until my wife and I have gotten to know the parents.

Same here, except she's 11, and I still ask innocent yet probing questions when she gets home. I may know the parents quite well, but I don't know all their relatives and friends that may stop by.

see now I have a problem with this, we can say "shame on the mother, shame on the aunt" for knowing and allowing her to visit her cousins but shame on the father as well. I know he has another family but this is HIS daughter too. He also said in an interview "there was some questions about the uncle but i've never met him" yet, he knew what he IS. I do have my questions about MOM but DAD is the other parent too! I know this is not the time to place blame but I can't help it, this had poor parenting written all over it.

Feel free to attack me on this but he does interviews with his "I don't know" I know only what you know" my a**! He knew alot more than that.

You know, I don't think that is what he thought, I think he was trying to explain to Nancy Grace why the mom was letting her around the uncle.
As far as I can tell from his various interviews, Jim Bennett does not know too much about the uncle.
That's my take on Jim Bennett's comment about Brooke visiting the cousins.

And to top it off mom asks LE not to publicly discuss family dynamics. An odd thing to be worried about when your daughter is missing, IMO.
