I have to agree with Evelyn on this. I know how NG works things and Jim was trying to explain on his exwife's behalf, I believe. He didn't want to come off as bashing her while their child was missing. I don't think he really knew all about the brother-in-law's past history, but I could be wrong.

DS, How do you know that the uncle or others associated with the sex ring made threats against the family? Was that publicized somewhere?
Welcome, PI. I wondered about that myself.

From what the Great Uncle said today about this being very bad for his family and pointing out the women were sisters...I got the feeling that this is dividing his family. In that respect, I would say the answer is likely she is supporting her husband still.

Thanks for the warm welcome. This site is very informative. I would still like to know exactly how many people are involved in this sex ring and if threats were actually made against the mother/family.

I'm thinking that a 9 year old would believe the president, sex training, slit throat perverted vomit.....but, at some point, it probably changes to "Your family will be killed" type threats. A 12-13-14 year old would know the first lie was a lie, I think.

I wonder if the latest victim is a step daughter?

Missed Greta....did she have anything?
Nothing much on Greta. I understand the dad is in a difficult place tonight, but perhaps Greta could have asked "Do you this guy took your daughter?"

Anyone know where it said the girl involved actually saw the "other men"?

Swanniee, perhaps Brook's dad doesn't know what you and all of us know, that a SO doesn't change. One of the posts I read this evening even stated that Jacques had been required to take some kind of a "class" as a condition for release from his last offense. Now you and I know that's a bunch of carp-- but maybe Jon Q. Public thinks that a SO can be "healed"?
You do make a valid point, Byomoi. If the system is saying he is reformed and cuts him loose...there are probably many people who believe he truly would not re-offend. They are dead wrong, but it is what our legal system is telling them.

Boy, was I wrong! James Bennett did know.

News of Jacques' possible involvement with his daughter's disappearance came as a surprise to James Bennett. Brooke's father says he knew about Jacques' past conviction on kidnapping and sexual assault and had brought it up as an issue with Brooke's mother.

"It wasn't made a big deal. He was married to Brooke's aunt and there were kids there here age and there was no indication that there was a problem of any kind, so it was never made an issue," he said. "Looking back, knowing what I do today, it would have been a lot different."

I agree with your reasoning on this issue.
What can LE/Courts do to correct this everlasting and ongoing problem?
The jails aren't big enough to keep the hordes of Sex Offenders.
Everyone should be aware there isn't a magic cure and jail time does no good to stop them once they are back on the street.
We also have the problem of the young still thinking "it won't happen to me" (present case excluded)
Maybe he rented her out for a week to one of his Breckingridge friends and she will be found alive.
There's always hope.

IMO

Anyone know where it said the girl involved actually saw the "other men"?

The girl, identified only as "A.R." in court papers, said she was told two other girls also were in the program. "The first who does it lives and the second gets her throat cut," she told police, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, the girl said she met two other men besides Jacques who were affiliated with the program. But it didn't specify whether the girl said she had sex with the other men.

Baker said police were investigating whether the alleged sex ring actually existed or whether it was a ruse Jacques allegedly created to intimidate the girl into having sex with him.

In the police affidavit, it says the victim was told the president of the United States had selected her for the sex program. The president assigns a trainer, and her trainer would be Michael Jacques. And then she was abused-- almost tortured-- on a weekly basis in many different ways for the next five years. The victim testified she had met three men as part of the "Breckenridge" ring who had told her what types of sexual activity she needed to work on to graduate.

You beat me to it SS. See the difference in wording?

It sure would be nice to have a look at those charging docs. Hint...hint...

I can't answer about the threats, but if you read the post above...it explains about two other men meeting the latest victim of MJ under the pretense of the "program".

Yes, there is definitely a discrepancy in reporting. What I don't understand is, at the presser, they talked like the press were given those affidavits.

Thanks, SS. This is more what I was thinking. I hate to say this because looks can be deceiving, but this person doesn't look clever enough to be running an interstate sex ring. He is slimy enough IMO to use g-d awful ruses to intimidate a young child and take advantage of her.

Except RR...the girl claims to have met the two men and possibly three. I would call that a "Ring". If she is telling the truth about the five years of sexual abuse, why would she make up the men?

  • #537
Oh, and I also wouldn't put it past this guy to be a part of an online "network" of peds in which he shares graphic details about his exploits. JMO

And IMO, if they if they are released to the press they are public. I just emailed WCAX asking if they could put the documents online.
