I feel so bad...I keep thinking she was only 12, just going into 5th grade. My prayers go out especially to Victim #1 who had the courage to finally tell and end all this madness, at least in this case.

What is there to say...my feelings about 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 just get reinforced with every case like this.

It's another sad day.

This is what I am wondering. Did AR and Jacques take Brooke to the convenience store to allow Brooke's ex-stepfather time to sneak into Jacques' house/bedroom? Then, they returned to Jacques' house telling Brooke that they were going to a party. Brooke and AR watch television while Jacques is in his room discussing what they are going to do/say to Brooke for her initiation. Jacques then takes Brooke up to his room. I don't think Brooke had any idea what he wanted. Well, she is surprised to see Gagnon in the room. When they try to pull that Breckenridge crap on her, she balks and struggles. I think that they are both involved in her murder. I have heard on the media (which is inaccurate half of the time) that Gagnon was spotted in the area the day of Brooke's disappearance. So, he could have been at Jacques' house. This could be another reason that he told AR to leave the house.

I am very saddened at this end result. This poor child never had a chance. Neither did AR. Both mothers are pitiful at best.

I am pretty certain that Gagnon was NOT in Vermont until AFTER her disappearance. However, it appears that he and Jacques were in cahoots. Perhaps Gagnon was to have his turn when she came to Texas.

CNN Headline News has been covering this for the last 35 minutes and just said they will return to this after the commercial break with a spokesman from America's Most Wanted.

I think she was almost 13 and about to enter 8th grade. Still bad. Poor thing.

She's also a hero. She must have fought Jacques, resulting in her death. She may have saved many other girls from him and Gagnon. Sacrificial lamb.

Well, it is very suspicious that there were two very lengthy phone calls between Jacques and Gagnon that night. It is also very suspicious that Gagnon was involved in changing information on Brooke's Myspace. Why would he agree to do that if he were not involved in some way?

Police probably will be able to pinpoint where each was because they both were probably on cell phones.

Please tell me that Jim doesn't have to ID her body.....

I thought maybe he was asked to come to the police station this afternoon to identify video stills or photographs prior to her being sent to autopsy for a formal identification at the state crime lab.

Because in 2007 Gagnon had a abused A.R., in addition to having photos and 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer, so he was trying to cover his buddies 🤬🤬🤬 so that his wouldnt get caught.

My dearest Amster,:blowkiss:
You are very welcome.

Love and Respect,
dark_shadows

How can people who work in law enforcement stand this? I was a dispatcher for a few years in a small Nevada police station. Nothing like what officers and detectives and investigators do, but close enough to see what they do...day after day after day. All that hard work and all those emotions and then to have the courts let the perv go to offend again! It's just so heartbreaking....sorry for the rant...

Damn it all to hell. And no Death Penalty.

Damn it.

Is there a possibility that they could be tried federally under the RICO act? And then possibly get the DP? I know that kidnapping, murder, dealing in obscene material, obstruction of justice, are all covered under the RICO act. I'm not sure if the "group" of pervs would qualify as racketeering, legally, although IMO, they are certainly a qualified sex ring and should be eligible for RICO prosecutiion.

Anyone familiar w/RICO prosecutions?

I agree he was complicit in some way. But I do not believe he was physically in Vermont at the time of her death. This is fortunate because it motivated him to rat out Jacques. He is a criminal - no doubt about that. But I don't think that he was present when Jacques raped and killed Brooke.

Why would Brooke be allowed to be with this man to begin with? Where was she supposed to be at that day? Her parents didn't mind if she hung around with Uncle Sex Offender? I mean I just don't get this..why was she there?!?!

Watching that press conference really made it hit home the emotional toll these cases take on LE. Prayers to all of them that have worked so hard putting their heart and soul into finding Brooke alive.

RICO does not provide a death penalty. It is primarily for economic crimes - not murder. Some hitmen get caught up in RICO prosecutions, but if they go to death row it is because of state law murder charges.

Dark Shadows...do you know where the closest medical examiners office would be, I guess that's where they would have taken her. What is the closest "big" town?

Gagnon admits to accessing Brooke's myspace page (login/pw rec'd from Jacques) from his TX address on 6/25, so I don't think he was present in VT either.

I can't help but think that they both were in cahoots and were somehow going to abduct Brooke. There would be no other reason to post that message the day BEFORE her disappearance. Jacques was setting it up to look like an Internet abduction. Maybe, he was doing this just in case she threatened to tell and he decided to kill her.

I just cannot see Gagnon agreeing to get involved in a murder coverup unless this is the tip of the iceberg for both of them. I just have to shake my head. You mean to tell me that Brooke's mother and AR's mother knew or suspected nothing. You will never get me to believe that AR's mother did not know that something was going on with all of those (neon) signs at her house.

How do you know that he ratted out Jacques? It sounds like investigators pieced it together using information gathered from the computer and from cell phone records.

I wish they could take him out, no trial, dont' waste the taxpayers money and stake him out in the sun and pour honey all over his gentials and leave him for the wild animals the puke.

I thought the SP said in the press conference that she would be taken to the state crime lab for a formal identification and autopsy. I could be wrong though... The link DS posted is no longer working for me to recheck the video again. Sorry.
