I'm including this because I see some resemblance and because the girl in Alcala photo wears something that looks a bit like what Bonita Bickwit is wearing in one of her photos with the distorted colors. Also I noted that Alcala worked as a camp counselor while he was a fugitive and Bickwit worked at a camp when she went missing. Different camps at different time but the camp experience might have been something that brought them together somehow.

The timeline and circumstances are not a perfect match because Alcala was in jail in 1973 and somebody supposedly saw them drown. But that witness didn't come forward until 2000 and it says she was upset somehow when disappearing and might have called home collect after she went missing so it's a possibility that she might have run away and met Alcala later.

It's a long shot, I know, and I'm not sure about the nose anyway.

But I'm disturbed about the witness. He saw someone drown, did nothing about it at the time and reports it 17 years later. Why?

This setting reminds me of an amusement park. One of the prizes RA won on the Dating Game show, was tickets to Magic Mountain, which was only about 9 years old back then in 1978. Does anyone recognize this rock formation as anything they've seen at an amusement park?

RA was incarcerated from October 16, 1974 until June 1977, Cherry disappeared September 14, 1976.

I also agree that the brunette girl with the buttoned-up shirt could be Bonita Bickwit. They have so many similarities:

Hair: Bonita has long, dark, and curly hair. The unidentified subject also has long, dark, curly hair with two side braids.

Nose: Bonita has a nose with a prominent bridge, and the tip curves downwards. The unidentified subject also has a similar nose shape. While the projection may differ slightly, this can be attributed to the facial expressions. The unidentified subject has a grimace, whereas Bonita is smiling. According to Google, " A nose may appear different when smiling due to the action of facial muscles and the movement of the nasal tip." This fact can be further applied to chins and jaws, which explains the natural difference between the smile and grimace facial expression.

Body Type: Bonita was petite, 4'11, and 90 pounds. The unidentified subject has a similar petite build.

I can not be sure about the similarities because of the photo style: They both appear to have dark eyebrows, with the tail extending to the end corners of the eyes. They also have similar eye shapes. The lower eyelid comes further up than most.
