Distinguished Bulgarian journalist and TV presenter Milen Tsvetkov, 53, died in a major road accident on Easter Sunday in Sofia.
Tsvetkov's car which had been waiting at a traffic light was hit from behind by an Audi Q7 four-wheel drive driven by a 22-year-old Kristian Nikolov. Later, the young man tested positive for cannabis and amphetamines.

Well-known Bulgarian TV host and journalist Milen Tsvetkov died in a car crash on Sunday, media reported. He passed away on his way to the hospital, aged 53.
The fatal incident happened while he was waiting on a red light at a crossroad in Sofia when his car was crashed into by a speeding jeep that failed to stop, the Ministry of Interior said. The reckless 22-year old driver of the other vehicle tested positive for amphetamines and cannabis and faces up to 15 years in prison.

The only defendant in the case is Kristian Nikolov, who on March 4 this year was found guilty by the Sofia City Court of a crime committed out of carelessness and was sentenced to 9 years' imprisonment, to be served at an initial general regime, as well as "deprivation of the right to drive a motor vehicle" for a period of 10 years.
