It all started when three men were found dead with gunshot wounds in their heads in the burned-out remains of a lodge near the Petrohan pass. Then some time later a new discovery of three dead men, this time in a campervan in the mountains, and autopsy revealed it being a murder/suicide. There is a connection between the dead men:

According to the police, five of the deceased were members of the National Protected Areas Control Agency, a non-governmental organisation devoted to nature protection which used the Petrohan pass lodge as a headquarters and also hosted rural holiday camps for young people.
