ML: So, we know from the Dr. Phil interview recently that Burke is well aware of the theories,
and was certainly well aware before this CBS documentary series went to air,
that, uh, a lot of
people think that’s he’s responsible for the death of his little sister. Do you remember when he
became aware of that? I mean, he was only 9 at the time, when did he realize that people thought
it was him?

JR: I don’t know, uh, really, we, we tried, I mean, keep in mind Burke was a 9-year-old child, he
weighed 60 pounds…

ML: Yea

JR: This was a brutal, savage murder and to think that a…, uh, a 60-pound child could do that,
uh, it just doesn’t even pass the common-sense test. Um, but we tried to shield Burke from, you
know, the tabloid headlines that said, Mom did it, the Dad did it, that Burke did it. Uh, probably,
um, we started to sue the tabloids in gosh, I don’t know, 2000-2001, something like that, uh, on
behalf of Burke, because, um, they were going with that story and we settled, uh, cases, uh, 4-5
cases against the tabloids. And um, I’m, I’m sure at that point that Burke knew that, that was out
there. And so, he’d have been, um, he had been, I don’t know, 12 or 13, I guess by then, 14. But,
no see, yea he’d been, 13 or 14.

ML: Well, it’s an incredible burden, isn’t it…

JR: But Burke’s a…Burke’s a…well, it’s, I mean, Burke, uh, I mean, Burke knows it’s
nonsense, and um, you know we, we filed a suit originally against the tabloids, uh, you know
there for multi-million dollars and Burke’s reaction was... “Oh good, I don’t have to get a job
now…”

Btw BR didn’t weigh 60 pounds at the time of the murder. He was at least a foot taller than JBR and weighed closer to 80 pounds than 60.

Why would JR have the need to portray BR as a 9yr old, 60 pound weakling, when he actually was more like a 10yr old, 80 pound tallest person on his basketball team?

Average weight for 9 year old male is 63. What’s with the 80# speculation?

First of all that number isn’t correct. I know Paula Woodward put that in her book. Secondly, JonBenet weighed 45 pounds at death. It’s absolutely ridiculous to believe that her brother who was just shy of 10, only weighed 15 more pounds then his sister. Burke was over a foot taller than JBr. Burke was the tallest kid on his basketball team. He was the tallest kid in the Christmas party photo taken at the Ramseys in December 23, even though he wasn’t the oldest kid pictured.

What's your source that the number is incorrect? Are you going strictly off of photos you saw?

You're wrong: the average weight of a nine year old boy is 63 pounds. Woodward used that stat because she didn't have the exact number of BR, and neither do you. It's a much safer assumption to assume he was closer to what an average nine year old would weigh, due to his frame. BR wasn't freakishly big for a nine year old. He was thin and slender. Even if he was a couple inches taller than a normal nine year old boy, that wouldn't magically add 20 pounds to the kid; that's ridiculous.

Your ad hominem attacks are completely transparent. I’m not going to argue what weight exactly BR weighed at that time because, I don’t know for sure. However, he was at least a foot taller than JBR and was one of the tallest people among his peers. He was nearly 10, but you know that. Nevertheless, no matter what the true height and weight was, Burke towered over his sister and was a lot stronger than his sister.

How did I attack you? I simply said it's ridiculous to suggest that him being a few inches taller than your average nine year old boy would make him 20 pounds heavier. I was attacking the argument, not you personally.

Whether he "towered" over her or not is a bit irrelevant to the fact that he was nine years old all the same.

a couple weeks shy of a 10th birthday would probably
put BR closer to the weight of a ten year old …

9 yrs 62.0 lb / 52.5"
10 yrs 70.5 / 54.5"
11 yrs 81.5 / 56.7"
