I've been thinking they never went to sleep. Honestly. So I can see her getting her times and lies screwed up. Most would remember what time they set their alarm for on a morning that ended like that. I don't think PR ever even busted into BR room looking for JonBenet. I think he was up relishing in the commotion he had caused by his crime. Probably coldly even played his Nintendo. He had knocked out the competition and could probably care less because he was moving on with his life.
You should look up Linda Wilcox on a candy rose website. Her interviews. Wow. It speaks volumes on how that house functioned.

I will definitely check those out! I've been on acandyrose website before. I checked out the book Perfect Murder Perfect Town from my library today as well

I used to be IDI. But now I'm in the BDI camp. I just wish (like everyone here) that something could be found to prove it: concrete evidence.

BR's behavior is sometimes confusing but also not surprising. I have two brothers and a friend with ADHD/Aspbergers. Burke fits the mold perfectly. Awkwardness and introverted (even before JB was killed). And it also fits the theory that he hit her in a rage. Some Aspbergers kids can't control an outburst and it comes out as physical. I can see Burke hitting her and even leaving her for a bit before getting his parents.

The GJ saw the evidence and that is reflected in John and Patsy's indictments. Rage may have played a part but other motives came into play after JonBenet was unconscious. It's not Asperger's with Burke. Dr. Phil lectured us severely after his recent interview, that none of those factors should be considered. So let's judge him like a regular person. Don't excuse what he did to his sister by saying he's on the spectrum.

Read Chief Kolar's book, "Foreign Faction." Best book on the case and won't lead you astray into blind alleys. Chief Kolar has seen all of the case files and knows what happened, he just can't say it in his book b/c he would be sued.

Previous talk of the bike situation reminded me of this bit from The Bonita Papers describing BR's interview with Dr. Bernhard two weeks after the murder (BBM):

Source: The Bonita Papers

Burke described his father as quiet and that he was "always at work", and that his mother "worked as a mom'. The thing he liked most about his mom was that she gave him lots of hugs and kisses, and the thing he liked most about his dad were "planes". Throughout the interview he showed little warmth towards his family, but at the same time was very protective of them. According to Burke, the worst thing they did was not buy him expensive toys. Dr. Bernhard explained that most children in interviews will discuss things about the family that angers them even if they love them, but Burke appeared to have difficulty in opening up about his family, similar to children who can't say things, because they feel that there are some things they shouldn't say.

Amen. He is still jealous of her to this day.

the fact she is now infamous must be real steal sticking point.
his life is still all about her.
American law might not catch him but isn't karma a beautiful force .

Yeah

SMIT: Okay. Did you go to the Barnhill’s to pick up a bike?

JOHN: Yeah, Christmas Eve. We’d given JonBenet a bike; we got Patsy a bike. We were giving Burke a bike but not that year.

The question is, did Burke want a bike too?

But story changes again in '98:

SMIT: Do you remember kind of what the kids got? What she [JonBenet] got?
JOHN: Well JonBenet got a bike. I think Burke got a bike too. It seems like we had three bikes there. JonBenet, I think she got a little doll that was one of these look-a-like dolls that was supposed to look like her. I remember her looking at it and saying, this doesn’t look like me.

Burke told Dr Phil they both got bikes...?!

The bike story has changed several times over the years. In pictures there was only two bikes. Patsy's and JonBenet's. JonBenet's bike was green so it's possible he thought it was his until he realized it wasn't. This might have been what triggered him. JMOO

Imagine when he realized that the "big" bike was for momma and not him.

He got the best present out of the whole group.....an N64....THE hot present of 96. I doubt he was as upset over the gifts to the extent some people insinuate.

My kids were about this same age difference and even though my son was older, and he knew who Santa was, their stacks still had to match in size and number. No matter the price difference. Kids worry about quantity than quality unfortunately. Thankfully that gets much better as they get older. But at that age... they would more than likely get jealous. There's a remark n one of the interviews somewhere that when they would open gifts at Christmas they would all be anxious and excited to see who had the biggest pile of gifts. So there was definitely some competitiveness in there. This can quickly escalate to jealousy too. Especially in their family dynamic. To the Ramsey's it always needed to be bigger better and more than previously had in everything they did in life. I have a feeling loosing anything wasnt an acceptable option.

Did they talk about John helping him set it up? Where did they set it up? What room?

Just wanted to point out a little detail. When one looks at the dining room table with the bowl of pineapple and the glass, the dish and the glass are located off the blue place-mat and towards the left side of the chair. This may be an indication, that something else was located on that place-mat.

I agree. I bet he already had a bike. He had friends in the neighborhood to ride with IIRC. Our oldest son was very excited when he got a N64 the same year. His sister got a bike and a doll. He got N64 and micro machines. I think Burke's anger was much deeper than Christmas presents.

But I vaguely recall (theCBS documertary?) suggesting that Patsy made herself some tea and she prepared the bowl of pinapple and milk for Burke after they got home from the party.

What do you think may have been on the blue mat?

The tea cup IIRC only had Burkes fingerprints on it. The bowl had both Burke and Patsy's fingerprints. This is a good catch NIN. Maybe he had a toy he was playing with too while eating? JMOO

Thanks Nin, great picture. Question: was it ever determined how the Ramseys would store their fruit? I ask because, I wonder if there is any way to know if the fruit was already cut, then stored (in like a tupperware container or some other container, zip-lock bag, etc.). Especially for pineapple -- the cutting of a pineapple is quite tedious and time consuming, so if it wasn't already cut up, that would take even more time for the killer to sit there, skin a whole pineapple, and cut cubes out of it in the middle of the night.

And also, what were the Ramseys explanations for the pineapple -- did either of them admit to actually preparing the bowl or the glass of tea? I always thought neither had ever admitted to preparing either and that they didn't know who did. TIA.

Could have been anything really. Perhaps the Nintendo? I find it quite interesting, that BR's Nintendo 64 contains the following components:

D

A. A rounded corner on the console possibly reminiscent of the flashlight found on the kitchen counter (size?). The dimensions of the console are 10.23" wide x 7.48" deep x 2.87" high. It ways app. 2.42 pounds.

B. A cable possibly reminiscent of the cord

C. A power cord with a plug with an app.5/8 " prong spacing. That would not fit the JBR spacing between her marks - unless..the power cord is torn out of a plug in an angle pulling the prongs apart!

D. A controller, also with rounded edges/ grips, app. weight 300 grams.

Theory:

JBR is "bugging" BR to play with his Nintendo (NINtendo..now that's funny..). He makes her a bowl full of pineapples to keep her quiet, even "feeds" her a few pieces. She really wants to play with BR's new toy. She grabs his entire Nintendo console, which rips the power plug out of the wall and runs or - she unplugs the power cord out of the console, again ripping the plug in an angle out of the wall, prongs pull apart, and runs.Or, she grabs only the controller, which again pulls the console and therefore possibly the power plug out of the wall etc. BR runs after her, is furious and gets her by catching her with a cable from the back? Or hitting her with the round corner of the console/ or controller in full rage?

Just another thought.
