After 19 years of fervently believing it was perfect Patsy and Patsy alone, it all makes sense now, thanks to CBS and Dr Phil.

Burke did it.

Maybe after both kids ate pineapple and then snuck down in the basement, using the big flashlight, to look for more presents. Something set him off. The garrote could've been him using one of his Cub Scout practice lashings. The scream could've been Patsy discovering what happened.

Homicide by Burke. Coverup by Patsy. John didn't do anything except slowly understand as the morning progressed.

I'm afraid I may agree. I just wrote in RN suggesting the same thing.
Had the parents discovered her when she was knocked unconscious but still breathing, (and because Spitz said there was no outward sign of bleeding or even a wound) why wouldn't they have gotten her to the hospital right away. Why would they have thought she was dead?!

Or, is it because they discovered her garroted and by that time JBR was dead!

BR cracked her, knocked her unconscious but she continued breathing so he put the garrot around her neck and finished her off. He then took the train tracks and poked her in the back to check if she truly was dead. And then did the paintbrush.

Now all the scenarios disturb me but this one is especially chilling.

I truly don't believe either parent would have garroted her if she was still breathing.

What you just painted makes a lot of sense. I always leaned towards the parents staging everything, but you're right. What parent wouldn't call 911 if they found their child injured or unconscious? Maybe one that just found their child garroted and dead, and knew there were serious issues in the home.

It's crazy how just about everything makes sense now. When I first took interest in this case I didn't even consider Burke and I saw little talk of him either. My first clue was the way the parents spoke of the killer at times. Forgive, move on. I think the major stumbling block were the beauty pageants. It made it easy to think the mom may be abusive or the dad a predator. There's still some details to work out but I believe the case is solved.

Unbelievable how the Ramsey's have made this horrific travesty all about them! Their daughter was killed!!! Hello! What don't they get??? Thank the Lord there are people like all of us in this world that want justice for that little girl because her family is more worried about themselves. JonBenet deserves justice so stick LW!!

Since the beginning, I always believed it was PR in a fit of rage. Now, I completely changed my mind. When they first did that televised interview several months afterward, there was a moment when it was so obvious Patsy knew when/where/how JBR died. I remember the spine tingling shudder going through me. Is there somewhere I can see the whole interview again? I think the question asked by a reporter was about the perp being punished.

im so old ive forgot more than I remembefr about it all, but I remember never being real sure who done it but sure even still that they were mot telling the truth. like others here, thre "dr" phil interviews (talk about chilling, omg...) and the cbs special has cleared it up for me....interesting that the people that brought you this descent into hell thought they could make things better by setting up a lying, nazi-like propaganda interview that instead made it more than clear that the cbs special nailed it completely. its like the ramsey death camp had been shown the program before hand and then tailored their bs rebuttal accordingly. they are just damn poor liars.

I still believe PDI due to a bedsoiling problem. I also believe it was an overwrought PR who roughly cleaned JBR which may look like sexual abuse, and that PR put her in the oversized panties and longjohns which were resoiled at the time of death. I voted PR alone, but I think JR was involved in the staging and coverup.

Not surprised to see most people chose the Burke option after The Case Of and the Dr. Phil interviews. It will be interesting to see if this will change in the future.

Just curious, do you have a reason you think Patsy wouldn't have immediately brought John into it, if BDI? I ask, because my problem with the BDI scenario has always been that I do not believe John was involved in the cover up/staging, but became highly suspicious when he saw the RN and eventually obviously entered the long tern cover up. That was my reasoning for always leaning back to PDI.

If BDI, I couldn't figure out a reason why Patsy wouldn't immediately wake John and involve him. OTOH, if she did it, there is very good reason.
