  • Missing FromLos Angeles, California
  • ClassificationEndangered Missing
  • Date of Birth09/16/1974 (44)
  • Age17 years old
  • Height and Weight5'8, 160 pounds
  • Clothing/Jewelry DescriptionA blue and white jacket, a blue baseball cap and black pants.
  • Distinguishing CharacteristicsAfrican-American male. Black hair, brown eyes. Byron may have a mustache, beard or a goatee. He may go by his middle name, Eric.
Byron was last seen at a bus stop at Overhill and Slauson Streets in Los Angeles, California on January 29, 1992. He was planning to visit a music warehouse and video store twenty miles away in West Hollywood, California; he was a regular patron of the store.

Byron never arrived home and has not been seen again. Employees at the store did not recall him entering the business that day.

Byron wasn't having any problems prior to his disappearance; in fact, he was very happy with his life and looking forward to getting his driver's license. He was an excellent student with a perfect attendance record, and he had been accepted at several college within the University of California system. Foul play is suspected in his disappearance, which remains unsolved.

A good student with a bright future missing, was he murdered? any known Enemies? too little info to speculate.

So Little info.

He was wearing colors of a gang (i dont believe intentionally). I wonder if there was a gang incident or police abuse that led to this.

Bumping up for Byron and his family. Byron is the featured case this week on the Charley Project.

An article from 2010. (I changed names to initials):
Cold case: Teen with bright future disappeared in L.A. - CNN.com

"...January 29, 1992, Byron was nowhere in sight when his mother, J Page came home from her job as a nurse. Page said she called a friend of Byron's who said he had seen him that day at a nearby city bus stop.
According to the friend, Byron said he was going to a music and video store about 20 miles away...
he was not considered a runaway, said Det. DH of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department...
His clothes, treasured comic books and the money he saved from a recent ski trip were left behind at home..."

The article goes on to discuss his hard work and accomplishments.

I wonder if a 2nd party was involved in his disappearance, was it a stranger or an acquaintance? I am just guessing more likely not a stranger. Someone he went to visit on the way to the music shop, someone who he only thought was a friend? Just speculation.

I hope the truth will come out and his family will find out what happened to him. It is clear he is an incredible person.

I have the impression that he suffered some racial attack... since he was not involved with drugs or crime... unless he had some enemies at school... any problems at home? any girlfriend?
either way
rest in peace

What a sad case. It's been 33 years. Byron was a very positive and a nice guy, Byron had so much to look forward to, an outstanding student with a bright future and a life he loved, this is why I am sure foul play was the reason for Byron's disappearance.

It is difficult to think of a clear motive for his disappearance, Byron seems like someone who has no known enemies and it is hard to believe anyone wanted to hurt him. I think if a certain gang mistakenly thought Byron belonged to another gang, they would hit him on the spot and make sure it was known, to show their power ( But I don't rule out the possibility that this is what happened, misidentification by a gang )

Perhaps on his way to the bus stop, someone he knew offered him a ride to the music/video store, and that person or people had bad intentions, harmed Byron and made him disappear.
I pray and hope that there will be a closure and justice for Byron's family 🙏 .

Byron's case is on the And Then They Were Gone channel. There is an interesting comment by one of Byron's friends.
