I've read that they don't know whether they are going to replace or repair the spillway. From where will the money come? It has to be done before the next wet season which usually starts around Nov, not a lot of time. Look at how close the town is to the dam.

jmo , I think all that yabber in the beginning about "next" season was just that-- yabber!

Snowmelt Snowmelt Snowmelt Snowmelt

They know the next three months IMO, could be one heck of a ordeal. They had just tossed a150,000 out of town.

So to say during that week ya all really better find a long term place to live -- they avoided.

I have learned a lot in the last month and it truly is a remarkable orchestra - when every instrument is fine tuned!

But a violin breaking a string and viola (could not resist!) the orchestra has an enduring problem. But opening night is soon.

The last 6 hours in is beating out and they are at the best they will be able to do as far using the power plant. Period.

It is still in the teens in the Sierra mts at nighttime at least......for now ........and it still rising.

It seems the notion that they wont have to use the broken one is , well, not true- snowmelt has not started, it has been sunny and dry , and the levels are rising.

Hate math but............................

Hey Larry, could you pass me the tube of concrete patch? Mine is empty. Let's get somebody to stop at the hardware store and pick up another case.

Did any of you realize how close to the top of the dam the break was? It sure seemed a lot further down until these pics?

  • #380
At about 4:10 one can see where the break is.
