On Saturday night in Reedley, 43-year-old Yesennia Rocha was fatally shot during a domestic dispute with her husband, Michael Rocha, who allegedly opened fire in front of their children and family before fleeing in a Chevy truck. The following morning, deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office located Rocha in the Woodlake area, where he led them on a pursuit, stopped near Road 222 and Avenue 340, and fired multiple rounds from a rifle at authorities. Deputies returned fire, striking Rocha, who was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured. The Visalia Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting, while Reedley Police are handling the homicide case.
