The eldest boy in those videos of the kids sometimes looked at the camera with absolute terror in his eyes.
I am only learning about child torture from a few cases on here, but perfectly behaved children seems to be consistent with severe abuse. I'm not saying all well-behaved children are abused but that it's complicated as abused children have to be on their best behavior *all* the time lest a beating come, so the children are walking on eggshells in terms of behavior.
IR is claiming her husband to be an amazing dad, she's an amazing mother...who says that about themselves? Most people would say they try their best to be a good parent, the best they can be.
IR has previously reported that her husband put a gun in her mouth and threatened to kill her and the kids? To be honest, the look in that boy's eyes, the way the eldest girl seems to want to be careful of the behavior of the younger ones, it looks consistent with children living in fear.
The children, in the videos, don't look starved, the eldest girl seems to be able to read and do basic math, the kids look nicely dressed *in the video*. A video with a very heavy production feel to it, where those kids have had to practise over and over to get all their words right and their cheers sounding happy and coordinated.
IR looks and sounds lovely. Educated, nicely spoken, well presented, an attractive woman. I think the Hart mothers would have presented a similar image in a short video like that. So we can't take too much from that.
If the DA is going to bring charges of cigarette burns and pellet gun wounds they're going to have to show doctor's reports and actual photographic evidence. They won't be able to just put the grandma on the stand making allegations of these things, they'll have to produce evidence, and that's what we'll have to wait for. People can't get a fair trial by media, the guilty can present the front of a poor victim, the innocent can suffer rumor-mongering from people who just don't like them very much for no good reason. It's what comes out in trial that will matter.
