I have been told there were two ceremonies, and looking at the photos, Louise is wearing different dresses.
Also, baby in one, no baby in the other.

What odd people having the same ceremony twice!

There were actually three different ceremonies in a short period, but the kids weren't at the first one, just DT and LT. That was in 2011, if I remember correctly. Then in 2013 was the second one, which would be the one with the 12 kids, then in 2015 was the third one, with the 13 kids. Three different vow renewals in just over four years. That is odd, to me. Just seems to me to have been done because LT and DT (and yes, in this case I think it was more her than him) loved the spotlight.

Pretend like I see on FB with people saying how great their spouse, or husband or life is. It always amazes me when I know the reality of it.

There have been recent attempts to change the law and THEY HAVE BEEN SHOT DOWN IMMEDIATELY, I am shouting because people complain about other countries. This is heinous.

Omg! about NH. Is that with or without parental consent. In RI, it’s 18 or 16 with parental consent. My parents were married as soon as they could be...18.

Age of consent where I live is 16, but there's a "close in age exception," meaning 14-15 year olds can can have sex with someone no less than 5 years older.
My parents were 16 and 21 when I was born.

I hope you mean no MORE than 5 years older...

Satch, jash posted the information about note-passing in this forum:

He posted this link
https://www.ctv.ca/Dr-Oz/Video/S9E1...ak-Out-From-Jail-Exclusive--Part-1-vid1257357
to the show, but the video is not viewable outside of Canada, so I haven't been able to verify it. Maybe we could track down a transcript?

As male and female prisoners are segregated in jail. I wonder how they do the note passing? Would they give the note to a guard who would than give it to them? Wonder if there is still that sick closeness between them? My hope was that with David crying that he would eventually crack. Perhaps if there is a trial, testify against her in a plea deal. Note that I don't want a plea deal! That would mean a lighter sentence. Just throwing out ideas as to what they could be saying to each other?

BREAKING NEWS-
7 Adult siblings have been released from Corona Med. and released to a rural residential home last Thurs.
They've also been re-united with the 2 family dogs. Atty. on ABC News this am said they are obsessed with food,
making their own ice cream sundaes and Mexican food. Doing lots of normal things and making their own choices.
Hope this is current news and not old, can't find a recent link.

Thanks Claudia-
per the new article-
None of the siblings had ever driven a car.

:wagon: claudianunes!

Also, Eneiram, I don't see mention anywhere of the 2 dogs though being reunited, although that would be great news!

It was on ABC TV News- That's what indicated to me it was a new release of info. They clearly stated the siblings
were re-united with the 2 family dogs.

I am :happydance: to hear this! That is fabulous news. Pfffft, the written articles don't refer to what I think many would find so hearwarming, that the adoptive parents got the doggies back to the siblings. :heartbeat:

As those who grew up with doggies know (all animals) they are a comforter that you can tell allllllll your secrets to and feel safe.

ETA: I'm imagining that if the siblings ever go to court, they have a therapy dog by their side

Thank you for the nice welcoming! I have no idea how to work this website though.
Are they living without any "supervision" (not that I'm implying they need supervision)? I can't really understand if it's a regular house or more of a assisted living situation.

Awesome News!!!

I love these great people! Love this comment by one of the boys:

"The prospect of driving a car one day was, in fact, so novel that the boys joked that they’d need to wear football helmets for safety."

It sure seems like they are so loving, gentle, and even funny, that people would want to be with them. Article says they prepare Mexican food now. (Maybe moving away from Louise's love of Taco Bell was the key to enjoyment!) Reports were that they had tried burritos at the care center and weren't fond of them.)

Happy for them so much with their love of fresh food, movies, and as we have also learned from previous reports, music and singing. I hope the six minors are doing well in their home(s) as well.

Did I read right that the family dogs are back with the adult siblings? That's great!!!

This is good news. And there are a few new details. I hope that they have assistance available quickly whenever they need it because as we knew, they spent very little time outside their house, so there will still be a need for an adjustment period. They are still under state care.
One thing I was not surprised to hear was that none of them had ever driven. That means the person who thought s/he had seen one of the daughters driving would have been mistaken. I wondered about that, as that would have seemed to be more control than DT/LT would be willing to give them, and would have required a lot of outside road time.
We also found out that what little they did get to eat was frozen. So frozen dinners, eggos, etc., I guess. So there was no actual cooking going on, at least not for the siblings.

I particularly like this paragraph:

“They're joyful, warm, considerate. It's not all about them. They want to hear what's going on with you and me and my family," he said. "It's just really fun. It's fun to be around them. Of course, they're really full of joy about their life and the things they get to experience right now."

Such good news to read. They all deserve freedom, independence and the joy that comes with it. I hope the transition is a smooth one for all of them.

I'm wishing the siblings all the best in their new lives! Lots of ice cream, puppy kisses, Star Wars movies, and all their hearts desire! And here's to college, careers, and relationships in their futures.

California has so much good Mexican food (after all we were once a part of Mexico) that it's a shame anyone would get the idea of "Mexican Food" from Taco Bell! Even Chipotle is at least real food with fresh ingredients.

It sounds like there are people who continue to be there for them, and the siblings are sweethearts who are well liked. I just hope there are enough good people looking out for the siblings that no-one tries to take advantage of them, especially financially or sexually, because they are still so naive and have been shut off from the world.

Also did anyone notice that toward the end of the ABC news story they said that the 17 year old had been communicating with someone online before her escape who told her that what was happening in the house was wrong and that she should escape and tell authorities? That is first time I had heard that.

It sounds as if they may have thought what was going on in the house with captivity was 'normal.'
