leyash, I don't know if all the articles etc. are posted here or not. It may be easier and a bit quicker to read the articles found here;

https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...ine-for-Turpin-Child-Abuse-Case-NO-DISCUSSION

As a side note, many have imposed self-bans from this thread/case as it just too difficult and emotional to handle, especially when following other cases involving children. It just gets to be too much at times. :(

I'm definitely having a hard time with it, honestly. I am keeping up with the Lucas Hernandez case, and trying to follow this one, and it's just... ugh. Grosses me out the way that people treat kids. Thanks for the link, gonna check it out.

MOD NOTE

Just to clarify for anyone new to this case, and as a reminder to those who are not new, unless the names of the children are listed in mainstream media, we are not allowing them to be posted here in the thread. This is especially true of any of the minor children.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Without going into TOO much detail, I have a person who I am fairly close to (not necessarily by choice, haha), that is charged with felony stalking. He plead guilty at his first appearance, from what I understand. Now they are proceeding with evidence to come to a conclusion for his sentencing.

FWIW, this is information HE gave me. He said he plead guilty because he knows that they have video evidence, and so what's the point in pleading not guilty? He said if he plead guilty, he felt like they would have some leniency on him as far as sentencing goes.

When someone pleads guilty to the crime but they don't have a deal on the punishment, that's called an "open plea." This is common in situations where the defendant is clearly factually guilty, but the prosecution and the defendant cannot agree on the penalty. This sometimes happens when the defendant confessed his guilt to the police.

Yeah, this definitely fits this case. The case is honestly pretty complicated (been going for almost 18 months now), but he admitted guilt when he was first questioned the first time he was arrested (he was at her house picking up a mattress that SHE left outside, and TOLD him to come pick up). He didn't know she had a camera set up at first. When he was arrested, they told him they had video evidence, so he'd have to talk to the judge. When he entered a plea, he entered guilty because he figured he was there... even though he wasn't TRYING to stalk her, he had already been served with a RO and he was just trying to pick up a mattress, so he thought it'd be okay. He was set up, IMHO by the ex gf. But anyway, yes, he plead guilty, and he has court about once every 4-8 weeks and it just keeps being continued for another 4-8 weeks, every single time.

Unfortuntely, I am having some vision trouble that makes it difficuit to read my screen very well, so I am not caught up. These may have already been posted from yesterday:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/23/us/turpins-child-torture-case/index.html
Riverside County District Attorney spokesman John Hall told reporters after a brief court hearing that each Turpin is facing three additional counts of child abuse. An additional felony assault charge has been lodged against Louise Turpin.
"Further investigation led us to this," Hall said.

The next court date in the case is March 23, to go over the status of proceedings. May 14 has been set aside tentatively for the preliminary hearing.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...n-facing-additional-charges-california-house/
"We have amended the complaint to file three new charges on both defendants of child abuse, and one new count against only defendant Louise Turpin of felony assault.
Evidence which will be passed to the defence in discovery includes“voluminous” video and audio recordings, and physical evidence, according to Dave Macher, attorney for Louise Turpin.

A new Felony Settlement Conference was set for March 23, where the attorneys for all sides will discuss the charges with the judge, and a new preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 14.
The May hearing will likely involve testimony from police officers involved in the case, without the Turpin children being present, Mr Hall said.

I just noticed something...

In this picture (I think it's been posted in some thread before...)

Who is the lady to the far right? Do we have any idea? I'm wondering because, there's at least one person who surely had seen the treatment of the kids, no? Or were the kids allowed to be somewhat "normal" on these trips to Disney? Eating? Showering, etc?

I seriously can't get over how much dad has changed in just 18 to 24 months... look at the difference then vs. now. This is insane to me... he's gained a lot of weight, it would appear. Just by his face. Not to mention he looks like he's aged 10 years.

Is this the trip they took with David's brother & his family?

Also 2 more....in the yellow top and the burnt orange top.

The one in the burnt orange top is a cousin of the Turpin siblings.
She and her family visited when the oldest daughter was 18 - she got very close to her during that visit.
She wrote a blog about the visit, but I cannot post a link to it, because there is a selfie with her and the oldest daughter, where you see her face clearly (she was very pretty, but thin).

She writes about he oldest sibling that she wrote tons of songs and that she performed some of them - which were recorded and put in the blog, but later removed.
Allegedly the oldest daughter is a very good singer/songwriter.

I remember this. Seemed very sweet. Did this cousin not notice any abuse nor the filth? Was this timing right after they moved to the house in Perris?

Thoughts on WHY the young escapee took photos to show police: I wonder if in the past she tried to tell someone
about the abuse and they didn't believe her because she had no proof. She had nothing to convince that person
what was really going on in their home. Maybe it was a cousin at Disneyland, maybe it was the neighbor back in
Texas that picked her up on the road. Maybe it was an aunt, or grandmother. I believe she told someone before
and they blew her off. So this time she wanted Proof of the atrocities. IMO.

I just had a look at the blog, it is written in July 2011, so a year after they moved to CALI (and I was wrong - again. The oldest daughter must have been 22-23 years old.

Here is what she writes about the visit, not a word about abuse or filth or even mess:

The second reason we went to California was to visit my Uncle and Aunt and their 12 kids. I've only ever met two of their children before back when I was 6 years old. We have always lived a continent apart and considering the size of both our families (I'm the second oldest of five) we never were able to visit each other. So when we walked into their home and I saw my 12 beautiful cousins for the first time it was truly a dream come true. I cried, and it takes a lot for me to cry. They were all the sweetest, most well behaved kids I've ever met. I'm going to tell you right now, I am more blessed than all of you! All twenty of us went to Disney Land together and it was the most unforgettable time of my life. It was amazing to be in "The Place Where Dreams Come True" with so many little bright eyed dreamers. It truly was a dream come true.

My eldest cousin, Jennifer Dawn, is the same age as me. We became so close in the few days we were together. She is the sweetest, most pure-hearted person I think I've ever met. And, boy, is she a dreamer! She dreams of one day being a professional singer and songwriter. She has never had any sort of musical or voice training, but she has such a beautiful voice and an amazingly creative imagination. Jennifer told me that she has written 141 songs, "And that's not counting the ones I haven't finished or the ones I don't like to sing anymore," she told me. All 141 of those songs are ones she sings regularly to all her younger brothers and sisters. She sang to me some of her favorites, and I was truly blown away by both her voice and the great lyrics. Than she said to me, "Can I sing you my worst song?" She sang it to me and my mouth dropped open, I said, "THAT'S your WORST song?!" It was called "Have Faith" and the lyrics were so uplifting and catchy that I caught myself humming it in the shower the next morning.

What really impressed me about Jennifer's songs is that she sings solely because she loves to sing and not to try and impress anyone. She told me that she only ever sings for her brothers and sisters and never has a chance to sing outside the house. I think I was the first person outside her immediate family that she has ever sung to. Because of this though there is an amazing purity to her songs and her heart shines through so brightly because she is not trying to impress anyone and she has no reason to fear what others think of her. I asked if I could record her singing some of her songs. I wish I recorded all of them! She actually wrote me a song while I was there ("It's number 142!" she told me cheerily). I recorded that one, which she simply titled
"Miranda"
. I've never had anyone write me a song before. I was extremely touched. I also recorded another really fun and catchy one titled
"Where is my Superhero?"
But my favorite one, which she first sang to me on the way to Disney land, is titled
"My Dreams."
I'm telling you, I don't get emotional over music. If I ever tear up during a song, it just that, a little teary eyed. But while she sang this song, tears were streaming down my face. Was it because of the high emotions already in the room? Maybe. But still, when I listen to it now I still feel like she is singing about me. After she sang it, I told her all about my Dream Chaser blog and how I write this in order to inspire others to chase after their own dreams. I asked Jennifer if I could post the video of her singing on here and her face just lit up. This will be the first time anyone outside her family will have heard her sing. I hope you all are as blessed as I was.

So without further ado....

(Music links that don´t work - unfortunately, would like to hear her music.)

Yup. And I think the abusers put on these shows of love and family in pictures just in case. One of the things that is glaring to me in the "happy" pictures is the differences in weights between the Turpin children and everyone else.

This is evidence of abuse.

This is evidence of abuse.

Yes, you can say that. It is heart wrenching reading this actually, when you know what lies behind it.
