Can you link to pics or videos? I only saw the one pic I posted where she didn’t look flirty at all. She looked like a haggard old witch. I would be really interested in seeing video from today if it exists.
In the Daily Mail article today, there is a vid. I can't link it now.

I’m confused. Did they abandon the kids and go live in an apartment for three years? Or did they leave the kids in an apartment? Was that Texas house that we’ve seen pics of rented or owned? I thought they owned it but it’s been a while and i could use a refresher on a lot of details.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the one victim saying he wants to kill animals. It just really concerns me. And now seeing he said he can predict the future.... I truly hope he is getting top of the line mental and physical care. If it’s who I think it is, you can tell from the Vegas pics that something is very wrong.

This is the first I heard about an apartment and being left alone for three years. Doesn't make sense. Given that the kidlets knew so little of the real world and what went on outside, I wonder if it was when the big house was trashed and they moved to a (?) trailer on the same property? Were the kids alone there with a "parent" dropping off food on occasion?

I thought the same about the trailer but the trailer def wasn’t 50 miles away so that’s what really confused me. Maybe the kids just thought they were 50 miles away? Idk

'House of horrors' mom weeps in court as she hears 17-year-old daughter's 911 call | Daily Mail Online

This link also has some pics from today. Gotta love the DM, noticing how long LTs fingernails have gotten in jail. anyway, I wish LT and DT weren’t allowed to sit by one another.

I didn’t see a pic but the link claims LT wipes tears away when hearing the 911 call. Crocodile tears imo

Eta - ewww the second pic of fjngernails is DT. Those are noteworthy fingernails lol. I take it back DM, that is something worth showing lol

I can't remember where I read it, but years and years ago when researching serial killers and their "early years" and seeing so many similarities to killing animals at a young age, one mental health professional wrote that for children that experience extreme abuse, the desire to hurt or kill small animals (or even other kids, younger than them) was their way of taking back control of their own lives.

In a very dark, sad, and twisty way, that totally made sense to me. When an adult severely abuses a child, it's a VERY good bet they might be turning that child into a monster in their later years.

Killing animals as a child is said to be an indicator of potential for violence. However, these children a) may have seen animals deliberately hurt or b) fantasized about it as a way of fantasizing about revenge (perhaps with the thought that violence against the parents was dangerous).

Also, the children may not know the difference between a fantasy and the doing of the deed. The parents may easily have impressed on them that they are both the same thing, and that they could see into the kids minds.

(Cf. President Jimmy Carter: "Anyone who looks on a woman with lust has in his heart already committed adultery... "I have committed adultery in my heart many times.")

Or, the kids might not be intellectually able to know the difference. I think maybe little kids don't know the difference between a fantasy of wanting someone to be dead and the reality of killing them. Along those lines, following a parental death kids will sometimes turn their wish that "Dad would die" into "I caused his death."

Also, I don't believe it's rare for toddlers to want to kill their baby sisters/brothers.... A year or two as a babysitter taught me this.

In short, I wouldn't attach a huge weight to the wish to kill animals except to the extent that this child clearly needs extreme intervention.

I don't understand the judge allowing their sitting that way, either! I've seen lots of cases with co-defendants having their own counsel and they're always sitting in a row. Why allow them to make eye contact or tempt them to speak to one another? I don't get it.

I was hoping to see her "in tears" so I could determine for myself rather than reading it from a reporter, lol. IF, IF, IF the tears were real, they could only be for herself and her beloved partner in depraved crime. If she felt that kind of empathy or even sympathy for her own children, they wouldn't have done what they did.

AND, what's with the defense lawyer objecting to behavior just because it occurred in another state? It's still the same perpetrators with the same victims.

Yeah, I find it gross when men have long fingernails.

Although there is always the possibility that he could be showing early signs of becoming violent (I've heard many times that most serial killers start out with animals, but many people seem to stick with abusing animals), it could also be partially caused by seeing the dogs being fed while the kids were starving, or maybe given affection when pups while the kids are beaten and chained to their beds. I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to figure out what someone is thinking after going through what those 12 have. Of course, the other options you mentioned are also very possible. This case has really helped me look at my own life/childhood in a totally different perspective.

DT has had a French manicure? It sure looks like it? In jail?

Why are these two allowed to sit near each other and interact at hearings? The court can't add an extra defense table?

Idk, looking back on pics, I do think there is cause for concern if the statement refers to the person I am thinking of.

lol I think he just had long nails. My MIL has long nails that look like a french, but it’s just her nails.

I know, why can’t they configure it so the two are physically kept further apart? Maybe it’s to make them feel “comfortable” and hope they turn on each other? No clue.

I believe the detail that the kids were left in an apartment by themselves for 3 years came out of the 911 call by the 17 year-old. Per the Twitter feed reflecting today's court hearing.

They would have to have been locked into the house, maybe even locked into their rooms.

Healthy fingernails look like that. Shame that he has healthy hair and nails, but maybe it's because he was getting all the nutrition and activity instead of his vulnerable children.

I wish I had healthy fingernails like that! The rest of us have to resort to the French Manicure, lol.

And nail extensions to get them that long! I have pretty healthy nails (doing my nails is one of my “things” that I enjoy) and they aren’t half as healthy looking as his.

Well couldn't those nails be used as a shank or something? I think jail needs to mandate they be cut!

I've only ever seen French manicures like that: buffed, filed, shaped, cuticle carefully clipped, white tips opaque and precisely defined in perfect new moon shapes....

Seriously, how is it possible to do that in jail?

Plus, how is it possible to have nails like that and at the same time have a hairdo like that (all kinda hacked)?

Were his nails like that BEFORE he went to jail? E.g. when he appeared in court for the first time?

Why the objection to what went on inTexas? It is further proof how far these parents went to abuse, neglect, and ignore their children. It is also proof of the number of years the parents have been evil to the children.

The one thing that confuses me is how any relative could have visited a few years ago, the picture at Disneyland, and not picked up on the fact something was very wrong with the health o f all these children? IMO the visitors knew something was wrong, but didn’t want to get involved. Famous last words! They had no idea the depth of horror that was being dealt out to the children!!

Yes, his nails were manicured. If just left to grow, they are not rounded like that. Before French manicures with gels and things, you could buy a pencil thing which was white and put that on the inside of your nails, probably still can.

California has no jurisdiction over crimes committed in Texas. There would have to be a separate trial in Texas for those crimes (if the statute of limitations hasn't already expired.) MOO
