Wow. Some of the girls appear to be late teens but, no words.

It sounds, from reading about her sister's description of their raising, that mom ran off at 16 to be with dad. They then implemented strict rules. Mom left home, to do her own thang, but wanted none of their kids to experience freedom.

Good catch! I was just trying to get a feel for them from the photo - you managed to do the math! LOL it's confusing. I think you must be correct *thumbs up* .... They all look so fearful, afraid to make a mistake, browbeaten into conformity - except #8 and #9. Even #10-11-12 are all careful to put their arms a certain way in their laps.

Not necessarily did they experience a better life. IME, sometimes you notice other children when you are out in public
and it dawns on you that not all family homes are rat's nest. You notice some other parents who seem kind ALL the time. You notice your abusive parents' public face and then their nasty, mean private face. You realize that life as you have to live is not fair and you want to try to make it FAIR. You decide to do something about it and hope it works. You take the risk to get out and get your siblings out. to make life more FAIR.

I found the photo posted by someone on FB and I just assumed it must have came from David-Louise’s Facebook page. Maybe a FB friend of theirs had access to more of their photos that weren’t “public”.

I deduced the same thing and noticed she stands directly next to the mother during the most recent wedding renewal (on the mothers right) and throughout the video she appears to be aware of not touching her mother. Like they all do but it's interesting how especially distant the 17 year old appears to be.


I'm very curious as to whether it was planned between numerous kids and executed by the 17 year old of she just went rogue?? The escape seems relatively thought out and planned considering the circumstances e.g. Making sure to take photos so authorities would believe her from the beginning.

This is interesting to me and I am wondering if there are other documented cases where it was proven that a mother was obsessed with being pregnant and having babies all the time for the main enjoyment of the infancy and dependency stage.

Until this case I have not heard of this possibility but I could see where it may happen. There is something special that happens when a baby needs to be 100% dependent on the Mother and I could see where a Mother may want or desire that feeling of being needed over and over again through the infancy and early childhood stage.

I am wondering if there are other cases where this sort of thing has happened and has been proven to become an obsession.

We dont know enough yet in this case what all the issues were but there is a chance this sort of thing happened here.

Diane Downs is one example - she learned that she didn't like children, she only liked the prestige (?) of pregnancy, so she became a surrogate mother, earning money for her pregnancy. After her crime against her daughters and son, she became pregnant again to win sympathy during the trial.

Who refers as their children to "THINGS" that is a sign right there something isn't right. I don't know of any loving parent that would do that publicly or privately. Normal people would have "CHILD #1" etc. on the tee shirts. They were viewed as THINGS? SICKOOS.

I wonder if 17yo spoke to someone at some point who gave her ideas. It sounds like something you could learn from TV, or something a concerned neighbour would tell you if she only had a few minutes to talk - "if something bad is happening, call 911. And if you are worried nobody will believe you, show them some photos."
The family had a computer and Internet access, if the mother was on Facebook and watching her own wedding videos on YouTube. Maybe the kids explored a bit when she was out, or they were allowed to watch movies.

Its a reference to Dr. Seuss' Thing 1 & Thing 2. Twin brothers from
the Cat in the Hat and they were little rascals. This family was full blown obsessed with Childrens content: Disney and apparently Dr Suess too.

I think the parents definitely see the kids as pawns/objects/things but the whole Thing 1 & Thing 2 has been done to death by many families.. not just the child abusing and torturing ones.

A little off topic but we have a local family here that have a number of kids, I think a dozen or so. The husband finds pregnant women attractive and has even stalked other pregnant women in the community and sent inappropriate messages to them via facebook. I think in an effort to keep her husband interested in her the wife has kept having babies. It's even weird for me to type this. The reason I know this is because he's been inappropriate with a friend of mine while she was pregnant and also with one of her friends.

-the older girls all have dark circles under their eyes from starvation and they look dull-eyed, brainwashed
-they all seem to naturally pose as groups/pairs: two oldest girls #1 and #3, and two oldest boys #2 and #4; Thing#5 and #6 enmeshed; Thing #7 and 8 head tilt to each other, one mind; Thing#9 boy is arms-crossed and standalone, very emaciated but has a spark in his eyes (appropriate defiance?); Things #10,11,12 are a group.

I think they all have dark circles under their eyes. The flash effects the faces closest to camera. Someone mentioned vitamin B12 deficiency I think, and I always remember getting served liver for Iron as a kid, (yuk!), but I grew to love it. These kids have not seen the sunlight, they are so pale; vitamin D. And, yes, while they are really thin, and some kids are naturally thin, they all have absolutely no muscle definition. So, no exercise, no sun, no fresh air, no nourishment... It's a miracle that child had the strength to escape--she must have been at her wits end.

If you look at the line up of the THING shirt photo and the supposed ages in the photo at the wedding there would have to be some mislabling going on. They don't have the right ages lining up with the right order in the THING shirts.

I created an account just for this. But, knowing that boy #2 is supposed to be early 20s and he looks like he's no more than 8-10 years old is just sickening, especially since his eyes are cross-eyed it looks like an 8 year old making a silly face despite being told not to. Not a teenager who's eyes are actually stuck like that.

The shirts are supposed to be a play off of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Cat in a Hat. I've seen pictures of other families using shirts like that before.
